wow... it's amazing what kinds of interpretations a piece of artwork goes through upon mass scrutiny. The fellow in the yellow hat does not wish to take an oil bath with the fishies here... whether that's fortunate or not, I will leave to you.
Thx always for your contribution

Simple but lovely. I love just about anything that has someone sitting in that position. My tattoo is of a boy sitting in that position. It means so much without saying a word...

I think it's a natural drawing response position. A brooding being. I draw a lot of characters like this too... They've all got something to brood about. Thx for your words

That's the very question I ask myself each time I look out of the bay, over the sea, and to a place where I feel is Home.

*GASP* My so called 'prowess' with watercolours is but a meek shadow in the face of the stuff in your gallery. WhOA! You've got some excellent stuff there... "Ichigo" is quite the spunk :} and you do NOT suck at drawing guns! -Any attempts to argue will be met with the famous "hand". I likes Gold n Gilded too.
Thx for your comments and support!

Shhh! **whispers** The stuff in my gallery's all computer stuff... i.e. cheating. ^_~ I try and work watercolours and a get myself into a panic! "Ah! Where's the undo button?!"
Be proud of your masterpiece! It wasn't made DD for nothing! ^_~

I don't think that 'computer stuff' is cheating (unless you downright go and download a pic, maybe play with it in photoshop and upload here) -I used to do a rather lot of computer drawings... back when our pen mouse still worked... *sob!*

that's bizarre, cos I was going out on a limb when I did that -completely not my style of legs and feet. I've been influenced too much by Anthony Browne, but I thought it fit better than going for realism...
thx dude(tte -if that's what you prefer)

relly cool! did you use watercolor or something? I love the textures and how you blended in the fish with the waves. keep it up man.

Yep, it's watercolour with a bit of guache for the hat, as I find watercolours can sometimes appear a bit washed out (a reason I don't usually work in this medium -I have no idea what I was doing with this). Muchos grazias for your comments -oh, and love The Artist comic! People tell me i ought to be doing the same with some of my comic strips, but I dunno. I'm just paranoid J:\ Thx again ~wave~

er... well, I wouldn't say that I've mastered watercolour either... I'm sure you wouldn't have any problems...
Just keep in mind that a lot of watercolour painters just dab their paintbrushes here and there, and whatever comes out is supposedly good.
just use your pencil rough (hb or softer is best) and burnish it onto your paper and go from there. Use lots of layers until you are satisfied. Oh, and most important is having fun.
Thanks :]

I've sat and stared at this image for such a long time... Saying that this is beautiful isn't enough...maybe a better description would be that it's amazingly and effectively beautiful to me. I find such a strong relationship to the image, and those feelings are greatly magnified by my passion for watercolors and the aspiration to paint at your natural level. Fantastic work.
