I like this too, it is good straight photography. At first I was going to say I wish I could see just a bit more of her hand where the curve of her changes to the curve of her wrist, but if I had to choose between that and the way you have cropped it I like the way this allows the eye to continue down to her foot. classic

Really love this in every respect. The only thing which distracted my eye was the black band around her ankle which makes it look like she's wearing socks or something. I guess it was the way her stockings were rolled. If you were going to stage the shot then I think that would have been avoided, and the lower leg shape would have been perfect. Just being picky though. Love it!

I am always drawn to your photographs - but more so to your words and your faith.
"So the question really is , how do we forgive others as we forgive ourselves? To move on with life and be a better person, to dwell in the present / look to the future and not live in the past."
I easily forgive others - find it difficult to forgive myself - it is a heavy load that needs to be placed down.
Another beautiful shot. I applaud you.

" I easily forgive others - find it difficult to forgive myself - it is a heavy load that needs to be placed down. "
Its a tough one isn't it, there are only so many things that we can accomplish by ourselves .. and this is one of em. However if we bring God into the equation into our lives .. anything is possible.
We live in a fallen world and we were born sinners. We have all done something that's sinful / regretful and heck we are far from perfect. But no one said that we should be.
What gives me peace is the truth in that fact. We are not perfect.
So the next question is .." since we are not perfect .. then i should not feel guilt and do whatever pleases me.."
That's wrong, I believe by faith that Jesus died on the cross for us, you and me ... and for the forgiveness of sin and the promise of salvation. Once you accept Jesus into you life , you are forgiven of all your past deeds and its truly such a wonderful feeling to start life afresh and its just the beginning.
I did so at the start of 2005 and the more I lead a more Chris-like lifestyle and attitude and confess him as my saviour and Lord of my life , the Holy Spirit produces these fruits in me " Love , Joy , Peace , Patience , Kindness , Goodness , Faithfulness , Gentleness , self-control" its such a beautiful transformation and everyday i wake up praying that i may be a blessing to someone else.
I'm not pushing my religion on to you or anyone but just sharing what makes me happy and my new found peace .. but if you are interested in finding out more i recommend reading " The Purpose Driven Life" - Rick Warren .. its light and easy reading.

a very cool shot. i really like the perspective, it just shows the legs and the hands - no face. the pose is intersting and mystical. i like the focus and the great black and white in here...

when your muse calls you must answer it. I like the combination of sexuality and shyness, it has the feel of a first encounter or the anticipation of that encounter. The fact that your focal point is on her leg rather than her hands adds to my interpretation.

Thanks for taking the time to comment , and I understand where you are coming from .. interesting Idea because as a child , we Feel , Act , then Think ... But as an adult we must take responsibility and Feel , Think Then Act ....

Its quite awsome! It seems like the person the in the photo is hiding somthing maybe she was raped or maybe she is pregnant thats why she sits with her hands between her legs. But, she dosent want people to know her pain so she wears the fish nets to expose and hide how she really feels.

I definitely like the focus and the emotions you got with this. Everyone else has said confusion, guilt, vulnerability, embarassment, and they all work. At first I thought that she was sitting on something and you took the picture from the top, but now that I'm looking at it more (the background is a little disconcerting at first), did you flip this? I guess so, she must've been lying down. Is she in a shower? Because I was thinking that, but then I thought it looked more like a public bathroom (an old one at least). And a public bathroom would totally lend more to a guilty feeling; doing something wrong and then thinking about it in a seedy bathroom.

Yeah you got the last one right. She was sitting in an old bathroom and i just took the picture looking down at her. I loved the mood and she had her panties down as well to add to that vulnerability.
Thanks for taking the time to comment and I said to someone earlier , too many times we are childish inside . We feel , act then think .. but we should feel, think then act. Its sad to see so many people do stupid things on impulse then regret their decision in life.
The choices we make in life affects our destiny.

the exposed skin at the top if her leg gives the photo a very vournable feel. like she is hiding behid these fishnet stockings but in a moment of reclusion you can see the bare skin and a childlike posture.. perhaps the real person is shy and out of place but has hidden that to the outside world.. the composition is pleasing as well.

I'm glad you like the composition, i was afraid that it would be too strange for most people and they might not get it. But thank for taking the time to comment and share your feelings . Appreciate it and i think you got it spot on.
That's the thing , i'll learning to be more descriptive and vocal. There are so many times i just feel like i need to take the photo but i don't know why. Thanks for teaching me the art of description.

that's strange, the clothes (well stockings) are really sexy but the pose is so childlike and innocent...and her nails aren't really long and vampy either they're just short and sort of half painted. It all forms a nice contrast.

I don't know, I kind of like Robert Schumann's idea. There is natural beauty, and there is poetic beauty. Both, he said, could be found in music, or other forms of art, but that natural beauty was a sensual deight and that poetic beauty picked up were natural beauty left off. For me, beauty is in everything around me; in the girl sitting across from me, in the white brick walls that enclose me, in the disfigured and gnarled tree outside. So many times I have seen people, everyday ordinary people, turn away people who are "ugly", "handicapped". I have heard them gossip and rant about how unpleasent or disgusting they find others, how hideous they are. Their words are like acid, which is far less damaging then their gaze, being medussa like and overpowering. Of course we are all guilty of looking down upon our neighbors, I know that at least once everyday I do, but the thing I'm getting at is that those who are ignorant enough to think of themselves as superior cannot see the beauty in these people. And thats just the beauty in people. I would go into the "poetic beauty" that people seem to miss, but I fear that I may have my meaning in all the words...

Thomas Aquinas once side that beauty is found in 2 things , Integrity and Clarity. But to me beauty is both those things that bring you on a journey and an experience.
What do you reckon.
