Description Chi (Chii) from Chobits cosplay made for Ikasucon 2009.

I copied a dress found in the manga and some promotional art... (I'm actually not sure if this dress is in the anime...?) I found a sleeveless dress pattern and modified it, making the skirt shorter, wider, and wavy, cutting out the back, etc. The back is lace-up, with that blue ribbon, and I sort of improvised a way to use what I had and not show the holes for the ribbon. I had to sew in ribbing to make it all stay up, and opted for a built-in bra. The sleeves I improvised. It's construction is definitely not perfect, but was really proud of this outfit since I had never sewn something so complicated.

I also made a petticoat out of a GIANT old wedding dress petticoat I found at a thrift store. It was sloppily constructed, but worked really well.

I decided to forgo the wig, since I had long hair at the time and I couldn't really afford a nice one that was truly long. The hair, of course, is not accurate, but I didn't mind. I also want to do this cosplay again with an accurate wig.

The ears and hairpieces are made out of craft foam. I couldn't find a small clear plastic headband that wasn't totally crappy, so I broke one during construction and one at the con, luckily I had extra.
