Chanja Olian and Fior Menoa are just two of Midden's homeland atheletes, both gymnasts although they specialize in different fields.

Chanja represents the Venrock City-State of Benvar, and even though she lacks in height (4'-7") she has great skill at Draung-Oue, a kind of competitive rhythmic gymnastics where you must maintain your pose and posture while attempting to disrupt off your opponent's performance without doing the same to yours. It's much like a combination of karate and dance; all smooth graceful movements untill one competetor falls.

Fior Menoa is a track runner, but Midden soon grew bored of simple eliptical tracks and races, and invented the Saboram, a race that takes the competitors over a series of terrains that increase in difficulty and danger as you progress. Gymnastics are required to make it through many of the obsticles, all while maintaining your pace and speed. There are pitfalls and traps, many of which can easilly end a competitor's career, if not his/her life.

Midden holds an annual competition where individuals and teams from all over the planet meet and compete in various events, from track to combat and more, many of which will be illustrated soon. The MAAA (Midden's Aranged Altercation Arena) is a subevent of Midden's "Champetithon", a ten day even held in the capital, Middahn.

Fior is a little nervous as this year's meet will be the first time she's ever competed in a major event. She's heard terrible and wonderful things about the Champetithon, and doesn't want to end up at the bottom of a hundred foot pit, or even in second place for that matter. Chanja is simply reassuring her that the "worst" rarely happens, and that she has faith in her friend...
