Description
This is Laelin. She's a member of the rather exotic Nentain Venrock subspecies. More closely related to the Cruuis Venrock [link] subspecies than her more bipedal cousins, she'll spend the majority of her day underwater swimming, or cruising the surface near the shore. Nentain Venrocks are social and very outgoing, living primarily in small villages on the beaches of the southern Green Sea. They travel vast distances over open water to trade and engage in commerce with Venrock and Vulpesant port cities, and traded with both sides during the Great War. Nentain Venrocks can hold their breath for several minutes while diving, and are very fast swimmers both on the surface and while submerged. They make excellent divers to help with the recovery of sunken ships and goods, and in the years following the War, worked with naval salvage teams from both sides of the conflict.

This idea has been on my mind forever now, I was more or less inspired earlier today by a short clip of a sea turtle swimming on TV. I plan on drawing more, now that I've got the concept down.
