I felt like doing a Normo image from my Gnome series. This illustration is not from any story that I'm currently working on but it still has a storyline that follows "The Quest to be a Great Garden Gnome".Normo still had magic seeds left over from that adventure and the rumor of them had spread over the gnomish lands. He could sell them for a good price and make a great profit. Here he sells some to Castra who unintentionally got some for free. He might have forgotten to name his price....

Axes, probably! Although they are more likely to wait until the mushrooms grow bigger still and hollow them out to build inside of them. I don't think that they are edible so the giant shrooms are mainly used as houses … although it would be pretty funny to have to worry of having your neighbor eat your house when not looking...!

I love the play of light and shadow on the gnome's hat. I'm not sure why it works so exceptionally well but it was the first thing I paid attention to in this painting.
