Description Unfortunately for Katy and Ashleigh, Lord Vonnegut does have a working wand - the remote control to his stereo. Neither can live while the other survives...

Excerpts from "Slaughterhouse Five" are copyright Kurt Vonnegut. Just in case someone tries to nail me for this.

Nah, I believe that excerpts from Albert Camus's "L'Etranger" can be a lot more sleep inducing than that...
Still, I loved this strip quite a lot, keep up the good work!

Ehhh, I'm not really buying that these two will automatically assume that anything a teacher assigns is horrendously boring. I mean, teacher assigning it or no, Kurt fucking Vonnegut is still Kurt Fucking Vonnegut.
Also the teacher would be less of a tightwad if he had actually read any Kurt fucking Vonnegut.
Such is the power of Kurt fucking Vonnegut.

I realize not many famous authors' names sound like Voldemoret.

The opening sentence of "Moby Dick" was used as anesthesia in "Liberty Meadows" a while ago for the same reason.

Those two are weak. Try listening to Deuteronomy or Leviticus and you'll understand the meaning of literary pain.

Agreed! Power Metal doubly! That combines the normal strength of metal with the vigor of Heroism!

I still say that if it were Breakfast of Champions, or any other book with Kilgore Trout in it, this wouldn't happen. Good thing he picked the most "didactic" Vonnegut book.
