Description "It's awesome livin' in a game with no oxygen meter! Hey, Sonic, betcha can't do this, can ya?"

I got my scanner working at last! This bubbly scene of Vanellope diving back into her blue cola swimming pool is another one of my test runs in GIMP, to see if I can still do underwater effects as well as I could in Photoshop. I'm not too pleased at the moment with the selection of brushes I have to work with for the light refractions in the background, but other than that, I think this looks pretty good!

Have you ever tried paint tool sai?
Is better than photoshop for drawing and colour (Unless you don't colour with mouse, in this case PSD is still better)

That's if she could even make it that far. My personal headcanon is that video game characters can't even exist without electricity - those who try to venture out into the real world through an empty outlet or something just vaporize instantly. I had a fanfiction in the works at one point that had that conceit as a major plot point.

You should seriously get Manga Studio. It has everything you need to make a good looking comic. Plus it's cheaper than Photoshop.

I tried out Manga Studio and had troubles with it. My main issue was the automatic sharpening of every line at the ends. That sort of thing doesn't work with every style and it made mine look hideous. I'm too used to Photoshop anyway.

The light refraction lines look as good as they always do. Nothing to worry about there. Good work on Van, and nice touch with the candy coming off her. The linework's got jaggies, have you tried a layer blur? Myself, I go around the outline with the smudge tool when I deal with it.

The jagged lines are just because I accidentally scanned this one at 200 dpi instead of my usual 300. Something I'm more mindful of now that you pointed it out
