Gotta be honest, I am not impressed with the looks of that Sonic the Hedgehog movie we're getting this month. Don't we already have enough movies about fictional characters getting dumped into the real world and going on a road trip with some doofus human lead we don't care about? You know what we don't have a movie about? A cocky athletic hedgehog, a tech-savvy flying fox, and a stubborn brawny echidna teaming up to save their island homes from an egocentric supergenius scientist and his army of insane animal-powered robots. I don't know about you, but I'd rather watch that.
The siren song of fanfiction is beckoning me again. Just like Ralph Breaks the Internet before it, live-action Sonic movie is grabbing my head and shouting "Write a better version of me!" I have ideas a-swirlin' in my brain hole for a coherent feature-length narrative that incorporates elements from Sonic 1, 2, 3, and & Knuckles, with a dash of the Adventure-era supporting cast thrown in for flavor. As I tinker with the outline and perhaps write a chapter or two in my spare time, I drew this high-octane scene to get me all inspired 'n junk. Wouldn't you rather see a movie where Sonic teams up with all these familiar faces instead of the guy from Hop? Or am I alone on this? I don't think I am

Oh! And the film has lots of mythology gags and shoutouts to the games, shows and comics, more than one would think. There's a whole page dedicated to the easter eggs on TV Tropes tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php…. (spoiler alert, though)
And the post-credits scene is teasing a sequel. So maybe the sequel will be more like your expectations of the first film, question mark, question mark?

And Sonic himself shows more emotion than in the games, which SEGA should take note of, especially from Tyson Hesse, who worked on the redesign for the movie. Goodbye fursuit, alien-not-alien Sonic!

Hey, I know you might complain about the plotline for of the upcoming Sonic Movie, but look: We have been waiting for 29 YEARS for Sonic to finally make his way onto the Big Screen! And besides, it's gonna be something that's for sure after a long wait.

After the two Smurfs-real-live movies we got a cgi-story in her own world.
Maybe, it is possible, that we can get an gci sonic movíe playing in Green Hill, Angel Island, The DeathEgg etc., well in Sonics World.
Let us hope it would be realized!

I can totally see where you're coming from, but here's how I see it... Back when Sonic was first introduced to audiences in his original game, he didn't have all these friends, he was just a lone hero, facing off against Eggman and his minions. His friends were introduced slowly and gradually over time. His movie is meant to not just be for longtime fans, but reintroduce Sonic to casual audiences as well. Sonic started out as a loner, and they're starting at the beginning of his story. I'm also thinking they didn't want the overwhelm casual audiences by bombarding them with every Sonic character ever all at once. Not that your take is bad or anything, just stating my two cents.

Sonic's friends have been around for a long time. There are not some new invention. Heck Tails Amy and Knuckles were a part of the classic era you're mentioning.

I honestly played about 6 of his games and only finished one of them : Sonic heroes.
How I can explain about my opinion about him is that If i went to a toy store and saw all these new things they sell like lego, barbie lol figures (which are way too expensive) fortnite (erg) slime, and then I saw some sonic figures, I would turn my head to look at them because they peaked my interests the most. but then I would get distracted by marvel/dc figures.
A mascot I know about but not really a fan of his games.
I would go see the film if it was like the intro movie of sonic unleashed.

I'm not all that interested in the Sonic movie myself, especially if it doesn't have any of the other characters or elements in it. I have a feeling your take would be more interesting.
It does make me wish I could get motivated to write fan fiction myself sometimes.

Honestly, the redesign is so good, it makes me sad we're stuck with this plotline. I can think of so many ways they could've made this more Sonic-y. Hell, if they really wanted to do Sonic being chased by the military, Adventure 2 is right there. That said, I'm very much looking forward to your take on the Blue Blur.

I'm not going to like the live-action Sonic movie, either. I really hate when they take cartoon characters and do live action movies of them. Not only that, but I don't think any other Sonic character other than Sonic or Eggman will appear in it. Bummer.
