Description It took me a while to figure out how I wanted to do this. A "trash the dress" series with the Disney Princesses wouldn't be complete without Ariel, but I didn't want to draw her as a mermaid 'cause everyone and their mother has done that, and I didn't want to put her in that poofy pink thing she's usually wearing on all the merchandise 'cause it just looks stupid. So I put her in her casual blue dress and put her against a backdrop resembling her old underwater grotto. She may be fin-less and married to a prince, but I bet she still indulges in a little nostalgic freediving every now and then.

What's "Trash the Princess"?

It's a play on "trash the dress", a style of fashion photography where the models wear very fancy dresses (usually wedding gowns, but not always) and get them completely soaked, usually underwater (here's an example: www.kevinbeasley.com/?gallery_… ). I decided to apply that to the Disney Princesses - most of the series is on my other account, , which I don't really use much anymore.

I wondered by curiosity how many Disney princess left who didn't go underwater yet as "trash the princess"?

I recently unearthed an underwater sketch of Belle that I did a few months ago; I plan to ink and color it before too long I also made an attempt at drawing Eilonwy from The Black Cauldron not too long ago, but I'm not thrilled with how it turned out and I'll likely do it over.

Take your time with Eilonwy.

On the other hand, even if she isn't a princess, I wonder how Kim Possible will complete her diving lessons? She sure have strong lungs to hold her breath underwater for so long to fight these bad guys.

I have the final three pages of that comic drawn, but I keep putting off the inking and coloring. I may end up just posting the sketch versions for the sake of completion, because I am quite satisfied with the way I drew those final pages and I'd hate to leave people hanging.

How about just ink them and having another artist like , who colored lots of fanarts then did, to color the last 3 pages?

To cheer you up, I might do more sketches or fancomics of KP(Kim Possible) like I did recently as requests for and .

Both of Ariel's dresses are actually rigged from her princess predecessors, but she looks so good in blue. Probably because it's such a perfect contrast to her red hair.

They say old habits die hard... But in Ariel's case, having lived underwater for so long, her habit has YET to pass.

Lovely work you did here, my friend! And yes, she looks adorable in her casual blue clothing anyday, anyway!

I think there'd be more air bubbles in the hair and off the clothes, but it's a nice pic. Ariel wouldn't ever be far from the water.

Nice work as usual.

I don't pay much attention to the whole Disney Princess merchandising thing, but I do pay attention to the movies it spawned from.

She must have lungs of steel to pose in a place like that! (Either that, or there's air pockets somewhere. )

Nice work, per the norm!
