I definitely agree, it looks so dang badass!! The boss battle with its clone in Kirby Planet Robobot is pretty amazing too!

I love how they brought him back as a secret boss in Planet Robobot! It was so cool of them to do that!

No worries; I've beaten the game by now!
Me too, it's one of my favorite boss battles in the series now! According to the game, it's official name is "Dark Matter Blade", so I'll have to do a new drawing with the actual name pretty soon!

I was taken by surprise since I was expecting Galacta Knight, but for Dark Matter Swordsman to appear...
Boy, was I a happy camper!

Yeah, perhaps this may foreshadow something in a future game; the clone was said to not be perfect, despite Star Dream going to its very limits to recreate Dark Matter (which might explain why Kirby can still hurt it without a Final Weapon of some kind).

Next Kirby game, we might get a Zero clone. Or perhaps they might have gotten hold of some mirror world data and we could possibly see a Dark Mind or Dark Meta Knight duplicate in the future...
Who knows? Kirby has so much lore that it's astonishing it's fanbase hasn't thought up more theories concerning reemerged bosses...

JBX9001 In reply to Bingus-Domingus [2016-11-12 15:49:32 +0000 UTC]
We might not get anymore cloned villains, since Haltmann Works is "defunct" at this point. Though considering that it took every ounce of Star Dream's power to create the Dark Matter clone that still wasn't perfect, it probably wasn't possible for it to recreate Zero (possibly due to an insufficient amount of DNA, since Kirby defeated it a long time ago). I was thinking more along the lines of remake territory. I'm not sure if they were able to invade the Mirror World, since it lies in an alternate dimension; Floralia was only safe because it's high up in the sky, though somehow they still managed to gather data on Coily Rattler to use for the Holo Defense API.
According to Kirby Wiki, anything that happens in The [True] Arena and other extra modes such as Meta Knightmare Ultra/Returns and Dedede Tour is only partially canon. For example, Galacta Knight is implied to canonically exist, but since he's never fought in the main storyline of each game he's been in, technically Meta Knight (as well as Kirby) has yet to actually fight him. I guess they're more like "What If?" scenarios, but does make me anticipate when Galacta Knight will appear in the main storyline.
And yes, Kirby lore is deceptively complex. Just who were the ancients of Halcandra? Why do the security drones for Haltmann Works look and fight exactly like Metal General (but painted differently)? Who was the artist that created Drawcia and Paintra, and do they have a sort of connection to Adeleine? Exactly what is Another Dimension? Why was Galacta Knight sealed away (to the point that even President Haltmann would forbid Star Dream from summoning him)? ......Actually, the battles with him kinda explain that...
Heck I'll go even further; Pop Star has it's own Star Rod, but so does Mario's home planet, Mushroom World (in Paper Mario). Both planets also place stars in high regard and they are a source of immense power. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!!

Let's be honest, Susie did say she'd come back. She might have some new power to use. Considering how they got a lot of things from other planets, I'm positive she'll find some new equipment to utilize. Think of the planers from Kirby Super Star. We might revisit them someday. Or maybe she'll find another Nova.
Who knows? Kirby has a lot of interesting stuff that it's a shame that not many people theorize the franchise's lore...

Whoa...he looks bad*** indeed!
It's a shame I'm bad at getting all key items in any Kirby game that has them. (I'm looking at you, Crystal Shards.)

JBX9001 In reply to MegaLuigiZ [2015-05-01 13:39:10 +0000 UTC]
Thank you! I'm glad you like it!
Some of the key items can be a little difficult to obtain and require full knowledge of how the Copy Abilities work. In Kirby 64 for instance, there's one Crystal Shard on the first level of Aqua Star that is too high up for Kirby to reach because they add an air limit to his flying in that game... You can reach the Crystal Shard by getting the Stone+Cutter ability, changing into the Rick statue, and then climbing up the wall get it. I found that out after hours of trying to guess the best way to get that shard! A bit too cryptic, considering that most others have more obvious hints, such as certain blocks being colored in a way that tells you what Copy Ability destroys it.

Yeah, Kirby games sometimes have the reputation for being too mysterious with the item collecting, but they're still fun!

JBX9001 In reply to MegaLuigiZ [2015-05-01 15:26:23 +0000 UTC]
Sometimes, but it does add challenge to the game and makes it last longer! In recent games though, they aren't needed to get a good ending and true final boss, but rather are required for unlockables (or most recently in Kirby Triple Deluxe, to unlock certain levels).

Well, I do remember when I played Kirby's Return to Dreamland, which I felt I had an easier time not needing to collect all Energy Spheres. But it still adds a great challenge, and I enjoyed the Sphere Doomers fights.

Yeah, the Sphere Doomers are fun to fight! ...If a little difficult in the later stages of the game... The Energy Spheres also let you play those Challenge Stages; which can be really hard to ace, but when you do, you end up looking super cool!

Yeah, and if you collect all of them, you get to hear a bit of very interesting info from Magolor; it's not too much in the ways of gameplay, but story-wise they open up a whole host of mysteries to theorize about!

So I'm not the only one who found him difficult; of course he' is a final boss, so that's to be expected, I guess... That's interesting how he's in your fan comic; does he talk, or does he remain silent (I always imagined the Dark Matter species to be silent, but Zero can talk to other beings via telepathy, while Gooey somehow learned to speak normally)?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Dededeman7 In reply to JBX9001 [2015-04-27 16:34:09 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, that is pretty true as final bosses are meant to be tough.
He and the other Dark Matter can talk normally, similar to the Waddle Doo seen in the Kirby anime series. But Dark Matter can also talk to one another though telepathy. The members of Dark Matter in my comic are 0 himself, Dark Matter Knight, Miracle Matter, Dark Nebula, Dark Mind and Dark Crafter (he's from Kirby and the Rainbow Curse). The monsters of Dark Matter are N-Z, Mariel, Nidoo and Minion Matter (they are basically the Dark Matter seen as the second form of the Dark Matter Swordsman and the ones 0 spawns in Kirby's Dream Land 3.
