So, uh, I'm still making the velociraptor girl; that was always the plan. I know I said in that one poll the loser would go unused, and in this case that would've been Kasumi. But I grew to like her, and the people who commented on her doodles liked her design and felt disappointed that she was going to be nothing more than mere doodles. Welp, decided against that, so I hope y'all are happy to welcome Kasumi Sakamoto here into the Super Mario JBX cast! Bio will be out soon!

She's friends with Airashi and Rei, despite not attending Diamond Junior High at the same time as them, as she was in elementary school back then.BackgroundKasumi may be half-Yoshi, but both of her parents are human. Her father, Dr. Ishihara Sakamoto, is a big fan of Yoshis, and is known for conducting odd experiments. Sometime before Kasumi was born, Ishihara had desired to give himself the ability to transform between a Yoshi and a human, the goal being to make himself into a "comic book hero". He was able to find a willing (albeit skeptical) Yoshi who donated a sample of their DNA for him to use, but upon inserting it into his bloodstream, Dr. Sakamoto felt no changes of any kind. His fiancé, Chitoge, convinced him to not make another attempt at the experiment, worried about the risks that he might not be able to change back (especially after hearing about the recent rumors of a group of scientists that had gone to Oho Oasis). Ishihara still had Yoshi DNA in him however, so when the two married and conceived Kasumi, she was born as a hybrid.History*This section details all appearances that the character makes throughout the story of Super Mario JBX; it will be expanded upon as the story progresses*AppearanceKasumi has a slim, somewhat petite physical build, being relatively short in height (though more observant on-lookers may comment that she's also curvy and has rather wide hips). Despite being part Yoshi, very few of her visible physical traits suggest this, as she appears mostly human (due to the fact that she has two human parents; one of them just happened to be carrying Yoshi DNA). The one thing most may notice right away is her tail. It's rather stubby and green in color, which reveals the color of the Yoshi who had donated the DNA to Ishihara (it also tends to wag based on her emotions). This is also speculated to have affected the color of Kasumi's hair, as both of her parents have black hair, not green (as for her hair style, she typically has it in a bowl cut). Her tongue is also much longer, being about the same length as her arms. Kasumi also possesses the reddish-orange spines that run along the back of a Yoshi's head; except in her case, they run down her neck instead. She lacks the shell most Yoshis are born with that doubles as a saddle, much like Mini-Yoshi. And ironically, Kasumi has no external nose, though she technically still has nostrils (which are not drawn in for her character design). Her eyes are big and expressive, and she possesses the same pupils as a Yoshi, unlike the usual eye pattern for human Mario characters.Kasumi's main outfit consists of a long-sleeved green hoodie that only covers her upper body; which combined with her white tank-top, leaves her mid-riff exposed. The hoodie along with her hair tends to hide Kasumi's spines rather well, though this is not intentional on her part. It is bright green in color and features a Yoshi Egg emblem on the right side. The sleeves are orange and end in wrists that are also green in color, though the sleeves don't actually reach her wrists. Kasumi also wears the same kind of white gloves as Mario and Luigi do. Her bike shorts and shoes are very similar in design to Yoshi's striker outfit from Super Mario Strikers, featuring the same dark blue/orange color scheme. She wears green socks similar in design to those worn by Sonic the Hedgehog, which cover up the top of her shoes.Powers & AbilitiesKasumi can do almost anything that a normal Yoshi can. One of these abilities is being capable of swallowing enemies whole, even if they are larger than her (anything a Yoshi can eat, Kasumi is able to as well). However, she is not able to lay Yoshi Eggs, so unless Kasumi decides to spit the captured foe out, ingesting them typically spells their demise. With that in mind, Kasumi normally refrains from eating sentient opponents, only willing to resort to it if her life is at risk. She's more likely to use her tongue as a makeshift grappling hook; pulling enemies toward her so she can strike them, or propelling herself toward a foe she's latched onto.Even though she can't make them herself, Kasumi is able to make use of Yoshi Eggs as projectiles, and can throw them with equal precision to regular Yoshis. She can even hurl one as large and heavy as a Metal Eggdozer (and by extension, Mega Eggdozers), though oddly this superhuman strength does not apply to anything else. She rarely gets to display these abilities however, so Kasumi is initially unaware she has the capability to do so (especially since Egg Blocks and Egg Plants aren't exactly common beyond Yoshi's Island).Kasumi is able to Flutter Jump, but she can't get as much height as purebreed Yoshis can. She is also able to run as fast as one, which is faster than normal humans. She is unable to encase herself in a Yoshi Egg, so Kasumi can not perform the Egg Roll move, and uses the same type of energy shield most of the playable characters in the Super Smash Bros. series have. Her Ground Pound, however, is far stronger than one would expect, being on par in power with even Bowser. She ends up hurting herself if the attack misses though.Kasumi can replicate most of Yoshi's standard attacks from Smash that don't involve his head or tail, as her tail cannot extend. But seeing as she isn't one who's big on fighting, her regular attacks tend to be rather sloppy and even clumsy sometimes. Even so, there's enough power behind said strikes to easily incapacitate weaker enemies.PersonalityKasumi is normally a very happy and outgoing person, much like Airashi. Unlike Airashi though, she's not exactly conscious of her actions, coming off as airheaded. She might say or do something that may be considered odd, unintentionally passive-aggressive, or on rare occasion inappropriate; but due to her innocence she's not aware of how her behavior may come off to others (though some consider this endearing). Kasumi usually means no harm by it, and is quite easy to make friends with. Though if a guy were to start flirting on her, Kasumi suddenly turns meek and nervous, much like how Goombatt is around girls. She refuses to let people ride on her back, afraid that it will become a constant request if she does (and to her, the act of doing so makes her feel awkward).Despite her ditzy demeanor, Kasumi does have a sense of integrity, absolutely refusing to swallow another person, even if they're an enemy. However, this same moral code doesn't exactly apply to wild animals or monsters. Though cute ones and/or those kept as pets by someone are safe, Kasumi does have a bad habit of eating strange-looking creatures any time the opportunity presents itself (those that are technically living food monsters, such as Bundt, are inevitably bound to become devoured by Kasumi should they encounter her). When it comes to food in general, Kasumi is almost never full, so she tends to be rather gluttonous, even more so than Princess Takoyaki (and also doesn't have to worry about weight gain, due to her abnormally high metabolism).Kasumi absolutely loves rave music (and techno as well). She's often seen listening, dancing, and/or singing along to it. She'll also jump at any opportunity to go to a rave party, or even karaoke if they have the kind of music she likes. Kasumi also has an interest in science, though this is mostly due to her father, and it doesn't go beyond simple curiosity.Like Airashi and Rei, Kasumi will often times use Japanese phrases and honorifics in her speech, though in her case, she also has a speech quirk in the form of saying "Yoshi" at the end of a lot of her sentences.
