Original Commentary: Man, it's about time I added Princess Peach to my gallery! I meant to make her one of the first drawings I uploaded, but then I kinda went out of order with it... At any rate, the fair ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom just can't seem to catch a break, can she? Often times throughout the main series, Peach is kidnapped by Bowser or another antagonist; fortunately, Mario is always there to save her! Even though she's usually the dasmel-in-distress, even when kidnapped she tries her best to help Mario (she even at least tried to escape in Super Mario 3D Land), and will even join him on his adventures if possible! Too bad some folks on social media forget that quite often... Anyways, I hope you guys like the picture!Princess Peach is owned by Nintendo
11/10/2019 EDIT: Oof... Looking back, this has got to be one of my worst drawings on here... The body looks weird, the dress doesn't flow right, and those eyes man...! And yet occasionally people still fave this one, go figure... If you're a fan of Peach, that's cool and all, but you're better off waiting for a new drawing of her from me. Though... Someone else has taken the role of leading lady when it comes to my Mario content. But don't worry, I haven't forgotten about the princess!

Peach has indeed proven to be more than just a damsel in distress. I'm surprised you forgot about Super Princess Peach and Super Mario RPG. And not to mention 3d world. I swear. She was the first one I used to beat Champion's Road. And I remember seeing a particular Mario and Luigi scene where she tossed Bowser out after Mario thrashed him for barging into a meeting with her Wish powers.
Come to think of it. The only reason I see that she kidnapped so much is that she doesn't really care because she knows Bowser won't hurt her or it's all a game and Mario is in on it(Which would explain why he invites Bowser to sporting and go karting events). Because the only time I see her get serious is if either Bowser changes the formula(such as kidnap Mario and the Sprixies for instance) or a bigger threat is involved. I think Culture Shock and ConnortheWaffle said it best. I definitely think she's some kind of powerful being. It's just that she's kinda ditzy. Not to mention she's a ticking timebomb of emotions with some sort of psychic power within her.

I don't know about it all being a game (well technically the series is a game, for us anyway); Bowser's come close to killing Mario a few times (prime example, Paper Mario), and makes it clear quite often that he wants him dead. I think it's more simply that Mario and the others too forgiving and want to convince him to cease his evil plans by allowing him to participate in their sporting events and ultimately befriending him (same reason they sent him a cake at the end of Bowser's Inside Story). But as we've seen, no dice... Bowser's not all bad though, as he cares for his son like any father worth his salt. But yeah, Peach probably knows by now Bowser wouldn't harm her.
And yes, she is; she's one of the seven Star Children. The other six are Mario (obviously), Luigi, Yoshi (the current one), Wario, Donkey Kong (again, the one in the present-day), and even Bowser. While she may not be as much of a fighter as the others, she has tremendous magical power, akin to Zelda, who gets hers from the Triforce of Wisdom.
On a different note, I really need to make a new drawing of Peach; this one's...... well, you can tell it's one of my older works...
