Just when I thought I wasn't going to make another big project, my uncle gets me 4 big rolls of craft foam and 2 buckets of molding clay as a gift, so of course now I gotta do something with it. Anyways, after I reorganized my work space I starting making my favorite red shirt of The Suicide Squad: T.D.K. (The Detachable Kid), and even though his outfit is only the vest, helmet, and gauntlets, this maybe the most intricate costume I’ve ever made. That’s right, this project may have been more challenging than even the Arkham Knight cosplay because his armor was made up of a bunch of small parts pieced together, while T.D.K.’s vest was actually made up of large individual parts that cover and rap around the whole body. Plus there’s also all of those straight lines drawn on there, along with the belt and shoulder pads that are actually attached to the whole thing, rather than having all of the details of the Arkham Knight’s costume being separate pieces. So as a result, this was one of those cosplays that was very rewarding in the end because of how much of a pain in the ass it was to make.
Lastly, there are 2 other reasons why I appreciate the overall look of the costume, first whatever material they used for the movie looks exactly like or maybe IS craft foam or some other type of foam because that's always been my trademark material. And the second reason is that T.D.K.'s NOT wearing a purple leotard like Arm-Fall-Off-Boy, aka the DC comics character he's based on. But now I'm starting to wonder why they just didn't keep the original name, maybe Arm-Fall-Off-Boy or A.F.O.B. just didn't have the same ring to it.
But you wanna know what definitely doesn't have a good ring to it in my personal opinion? His other code-name: Splitter.
