Not much to say here. If I had full control and unlimited access to a half-life movie, this is who I would cast:

Gordon Freeman: Ed Norton- I'm not opposed to Hugh Laurie playing Gordon Freeman, but he seems a little too old. Ed Norton is younger and very talented. Norton has a great range of expressions, which is good when playing a mute.

Alyx Vance: Rosario Dawson- She's SO beautiful and a good actress to boot. She's played ass-kicking female roles before, which makes her a good choice. Not to mention her physical resemblance to half-black, half-Asian Vance.

G-Man: Christopher Walken- Walken resembles the g-man in a lot of ways, especially the eyes! Plus, Walken has that creepy and mysterious vibe in a BIG way.

Barney Calhoun: Kyle Chandler- This is where my picks are very different from most HL fake movie casts floating around. Kyle Chandler not only LOOKS like Barney, but he's talented enough to play the complex role Barney has. Barney goes from a lovable, quirky guy to kick-ass resistance commander, which I feel Chandler would be able to portray well.

Judith Mossman: Cate Blanchett- Cate Blanchett is an AMAZING actress and would be able to peg Mossman's complex"devious spy in love with Eli Vance" story well.

Eli Vance: Morgan Freeman- An obvious (and obviously uninspired) choice. Morgan Freeman is a tremendously talented actor, plus the fact that he looks JUST like Eli. PLUS- his last name is Freeman. Fate, anyone?

Vortigaunts: Joan Cusak- it would save the studio on costs for not having to make the Vortigaunts c.g.i. Although, I don't think I'm doing Sweepy justice.

Dr. Breen: Dennis Hopper- a great actor and a great villan. Dennis Hopper is the ultimate in fantasy league casting for a half-life movie. His skills and abilities would legitimize any half-life movie and would make it automatically awesome!

Well, like I said, nothing to revolutionary. I just really wanted to get the point across of my pick to play Barney. If I had to see one more cast that had Jeremy Piven or Charlie Sheen as Barney Calhoun, I was going to scream!
