So I recently bumped into a video of the re-done version of Links Awakening that was released recently. It's not bad, but it mostly reminded me of when I played the original, way back in the 2000's. (My family usually were two or three generations behind the rest of the world, in terms of video games. In fairness, Gameboy games were a lot cheaper when you picked them up from garage sales)

Link's Awakening was my introduction to Legend of Zelda. I'd sort of been dimly aware of the franchise prior to that, but Link's Awakening was the first game I played. Zelda didn't even show up, but I thought the characters and the world were charming...a whole world in a little gameboy. And the story took me by surprise--a lot more complex than what I'd expected from playing Mario

Anyway. High school me drew a series of pictures based on it, because of how fascinating and real it all seemed. That makes these nearly ten years old, and looking at the pictures now makes me cringe. But hey, I was thinking about them, and with Link's Awakening coming out... well hey, why not.
