Description As with previously, final clearances are being checked for the proposed N Gauge GWR transfer shed - now with the main platform structure loosely assembled.

Ironically, putting all the roof trusses (21) in would in all probability hinder viewing even with the roof removed (as intended for operation/display), so I am considering just putting in a few for effect.  Opinions welcome!

This looks wonderful, and I like the idea of making it mostly exposed inside, as to show the work put into the interior better.

Also, I love the mix of Western steam, it reminds me a bit of Didcot

Thanks; the aim is to purposely not do a roof so the interior is fully visible.  Glad you think that - it is quite literally a copy of Didcot's transfer shed!

I like it when modellers do that, it really adds a "museum value" with a detailed interior. And my locos love to stick in buildings like that, so a removable roof is always good.

Thanks.  Glad you think so re the platform - nice to have a second opinion.  Indeed it is - Hartlebury Castle (the widest cylinders I have).

I'm not far away from 'Wightwick Hall' at Quainton (been in the smokebox!); lovely engines.  Large or small, GW locomotives had style.

They haven't been on display for a long time, but I recall the two of them yes.  Would be nice to get them back up & running.
