My mother is a big fan of Corner Gas. It's a sitcom that was filmed and based here in Saskatchewan where I'm from. Based in the fictional town of Dog River. The interior of the gas station and the outdoor shots were filmed in Rouleau (pronounced Rolo), a town about half an hour out of my hometown of Moose Jaw on Highway 39. There's even a sign up in Rouleau to commemorate Corner Gas being produced there. The interior shots of the cafe', bar and houses were filmed in Regina, the capitol of Saskatchewan about 45 minutes east of Moose Jaw on the TransCanada Highway. Created by comedian Brent Butt whose from Tisdale. A town almost 4 hours north of Moose Jaw which is also in Saskatchewan. He based the show off of how he thought his life would've been had he never left Tisdale and pursued his acting career in the cities. Drove past on my way to Weyburn a couple of times and went there last spring to deliver some appliances to a guy who had ordered them from The Brick where I work. A cousin of mine along with his wife and their 3 boys live there. It's a nice town. I was also inspired to make this one after watching The Care Bears Movie last week despite that Noble Heart didn't appear and wasn't mentioned either. The first time I'd watched it since I was a kid. I was caught by surprise that he voiced Noble Heart and he's from Saskatchewan. Pretty cool.
