Hipposcrofas replace equines from the Heliocene. The Hipposcrofa is a horse like suid, hence the name Hipposcrofa meaning (Hippo - Horse and Scrofa - Boar). Hipposcrofas live in large, migratory herds up to 1,000 individuals, grazing on rich grasses. Gestation period for these horse-like suids lasts for 12 months and produces a single piglet.
