The smallest species of the Longsnout peccaries are the Mexicaribbean Longsnout which inhabits the grassland and forest habitats of the Mexicaribbean Islands. Longsnouts are opportunists that would consume anything even it's own species as a result to natural cannibalism. The Longsnout has an elongated snout and has an excellent scent of smell and has two long tusks. Gestation period lasts around six months and produces two to three piglets.
