Hello DiPierro, this is megrandy. I don't know if you remember who I am, but I go to the BOCES center down in Saratoga and I have McEvoy as a teacher.
I did the local photo competition and placed first. I did horrible but yet I still get to move on. Another friend of mine got second (I was hoping for her to of gotten first)
I'm just wondering if you can tell us what we should expect/do regarding the SkillsUSA Photo Competition that's taking place in regionals.
Some things I just wanted to ask:
Are their test? What are they on?
Is there a studio portion of the contest? What do we have to do in it?
Do we get to edit the photos?
If you can, can you tell us what the field assignments are?
I'm sorry if that's a lot to ask. If there's anything els you would like us to know, pleas let me know
These were the two pictures that I wanted to use for the print portion of the competion [link] [link]. But my teachers were telling me that one is a little bit too much edited, and the other doesn't convey a message. So if you can, can you tell me if that's one of the rules for the print portion. If you want, you can give them you're criticism on what you think I need to improve on. I really need it at this point.
But anyways, thank you so much for your time if you got the chance to read this.

My dad is a firefighter, and right now practically my entire state (california) is up in flames.. My house almost burned down. o.O This is a particularly touching piece for me.

It is great! I'm a volunteer, Class A - Interior and I love it. I live in a pretty small area so we don't have many huge calls but this has been one of our most active years in a long long while. It's a very exciting and fulfilling hobby/job.

Right now I'm a Cadet with East Fork in Gardnerville NV.
Last year we had a horrible fire at Lake Tahoe, the angora fire.
We haven't had much this year so far, knock on wood...
It is a very rewarding job, i can't wait to volunteer and wildland x3

firemen are the most amazing people ever. We had to do FF training in my tec class, and omg it was so hard! I could never be a fireman but my respect for them is profound!
