So this jolteon came to be in a dream
..rly. I had a dream where I was like "what should I sculpt next?" and somehow I came to the conclusion of a jolteon, and had it planned in my head in this pose. Then I woke up and started sculpting a few days later |D;
Made with super sculptey over a wire/foil armature c: He's about 6.5" inches long, 2.4" inches tall, and 2.0" inches wide.
I know it's not the best.. but it's my second sculpture ever XD; And I learned a lotttt. I also discovered some tips for smoothing the clay, but unfortunately not until after I'd already baked this guy.. so hopefully my next one will be better <3
I really like how his face came out though ;3; I didn't put any 3/4 views of his face up on the image, but he's super cute to me at that angle ;u;'
Any suggestions for what I should sculpt next would be loved!
And psst if anyone maybe perhaps is interested in a sculpture commission <<.. note me xD I could use some practice dummies..

fff You did really well with the spiky-pointy fur parts; I know it must have been tedious to get into the right shape xD But I love his face... and his ears... I'm really just staring at his ears now lol

/after seeing this Nighst proceeded to look up images of cute pokemon to sculpt fff
I never got the chance to use the sculpy I bought fff, the lemon shark pup idea didn't really motivate me xD Now I realize a cute lil' small poke-scuplt would be a good first try~ (Even though I don't really know much about pokemon, I just know that some of them are cute and some are ugly ffff) I think I'm gonna try a Glaceon, I love big floppy-eared things eue

Even if they were a pain in the ass to attach and stay on << .. not as bad as those spikes though GINAIOSDN. They actually weren't that bad to shape, just REALLY difficult to add on and keep them from breaking XD
..which I did quite a few times. This thing needs to get out of my house before he explodes.
Pokemon are awesome to practice on XD I think that's why my brain chose jolteon~

I can see that now that I've looked through a bit more of the creatures~ I'm not sure if I'll start with Glaceon or Houndoom yet though because they both look so pretty! I'll just have to see where this goes. ouo

I am staying away <3< He's sitting up on display on the coffee table right now, very far away from me and my clumsiness.
I'd suggest glaceon to start with but that's just me O: Houndoom has a lot of tough features xD

Yeah I realized that, I just thought of Houndoom because I'm just a bit more famillar with the dog-like anatomy than weird kitty-things, I did choose Glaceon, though xDD I got a nice rough body and face shape for her! She's really tiny, but so fun to work on fff~
I just played Pokemon for the first time this weekend, lol, Black version x3 I think I might sculpt Snivy and his evolutions since he's so awesome and I chose him as my starter <3 I think my trusty ol' DS lite will get a lot of attention now that I'm into this Pokemon stuff xD So many pretty critters~

Well I used canine anatomy with Jolteon xD the eevee's always seemed more dog-like to me than catlike (although they are officially cats) Glad you're having fun ouo~ Make sure you show me when you're done >

How about trying your hand at a whippet or a yorky?
If you're looking for more pokemon then perhaps a ponyta or rapidash, venonat, absol, arcanine, or a zebstrika.

Oo.. I may try a whippet sometime soon; I've really wanted to try my hand at something smooth-coated to try out the new smoothing techniques I found..

Not all sculptures need an armature O: I've seen ones done without it.. they do make it more stable and easier to build on though!
