UPDATED MAP

Under the reign of Napoleon the First, France became powerful and fought Europe to create the Empire.

His successors conquered new colonies and territories, and made the French Eagle rule all over the world. The empire is divided into 'sister kingdoms' under the rule of the Eagle and the Bonaparte family, in Paris.

Paris, the capital of the Empire, is much more bigger than the current city: 5X

its architecture is strictly controlled.

In the empire, the legacy of the Roman Empire is exalted, now. Catholic Church was reduced to an association controlled by state, Vatican is now occupied by the Empire, now, the Empire is symbolized by the Goddess Juno Imperialis, whose statues are present in all cities, and all city halls, a giant one was built with golden parts. And the ancient Roman religion was, in years 1820, resurrected, but with many changes, as the idea is to magnify the power of the Empire and of the Emperor: Vesta's temple was rebuilt, like the whole ancient Forum of Rome and the corp of the Vestals was restored, in 1824, by the young Napoleon II. The Empress is now ordered to be the chief of this order... Rumors said that these women are some secret warriors.

These girls aren't forced to be virgins, compared to the Roman ones, and are choosen by the Emperor or his wife, they always choose them in the soldiers families, but now in the popular classes, since 1871; they're supposed to be more than 6000, but only 60 in the original temple in Rome.

For men, there are not really order because there's the army.

But these orders are forbidden to receive wills, or donation from anybody who's not from the Bonaparte family or the army/state function corp. in order to avoid the pre-1789 church; they don't perceive taxes. But have some privileges. For instance they can protect important papers and state treasures; Vatican, and any antic roman building was given to these Vestals.

French army, tanks, and French Zeppelins are present everywhere. On the streets of each cities of the Empire, on every skies of the Empire.

Conscription is the duty of every man of the Empire, from 18 to 45, and the military service is for 2 years (18-20) where every boy receives his uniform, his weapons (sword, knife, rifle and gun) and his passport/military booklet and a little salary.

Outside the army, they aren't allowed to have ammo with them, nor fire weapons, but have always their sword and knife (they are considered to be gifts of the state)

and they are advised to take care of them. You don't want a Prussian sergent to make you clean toilets!!

Uniform too is kept by the man and generally worn when the man has to go to or come from his base, in ceremonies, and in other occasions.

But France isn't the only power. Britannia also created its empire: since 1804, they perpetually opposed to France in order to create a huge empire. Britannia rules all over the seas, while the French Eagle rules all over the lands and the skies.

London is now the first economic city of the world.

Britain colonized the world, too; since 1812, they fought to retake the former United States of America, the war lasted until 1871, but it was for Britain a half victory: France taken Louisiana, and forced Britain to leave a land to Americans, and French Zeppelins are always looking for any border violation by Britain.

Like French empire does, the conscription is in place, but on the contrary of France which orientates the conscription to infantry, cavalry and aircraft service (the zeppelin are like ships in their organization) British Empire conscription is more orientated to the Navy service, even if there is also a military service, quite similar than the French one.

The British army has the strongest navy force of the world, but they have also planes: little planes generally based on land airport or aircraft carriers.

London is quite similar to the real Victorian/Edwardian one, but in bigger, and very militarized in order to prevent French attacks.

Britain has now at least three capitals: London, Delhi, and Melbourne. Sometimes Ottawa is considered as one of them.

Ah, yes, Quebec: they are francophone people, but not really supporters of French Empire: in years 1804-1818 the anti-royalist repression was terrible, the execution of the duke of enghien was an exemple: the surviving monarchists which refused to integrate the Empire fled there.

But Montreal has a huge French embassy

However, even if French and British empires are now the most powerful of the world, Russia didn't disappeared: after the reign of Napoleon the First and Tsar Alexander I, the Russian Bear crushed Ottoman Empire after a terrible war with both French and British Empires during the Crimean War. Now, the Tsar Nicholas II could say he's the successor of the Byzantine Empire. Russia is now trying to modernize its empire, but the lack of liberty and the omnipresence of the Okhrana is painfully supported by the population: terrorism is omnipresent, too, but the Tsar is far from his court, always worried because of his son, Alexei.

Even if the tsar married the Prussian princess Alix of Hesse, from French empire, the relations with the Eagle are straight.

Ortodox religion and aristocracy are now ruling the empire, as the tsar isolated from the Court: the Yussupov family is "richer than the tsar" as the newspapers wrote.

But, since a few years a new word is heard: Bolshevism.

South America is now belonging to the last Remnents of the former Spanish empire.

Created by the help of England in order to stop French conquests, the surviving Bourbon family is ruling it, papacy too is now living there.

The Hispanic king is trying to build a modern country without violence... Not difficult, as French and English empires are controlling its naval and aerial activities, but the king, helped by the pope, is standing against them... And their ambitions: French would love to conquer this remnent of the past, while Britain would like to occupy all America...

USA: the most unlucky country. And one of the last ones.

Slowly reconquered by England from 1812 to 1871, by intermittences, the country lost almost all its former territory, principally because of the American Civil war of 1861/1865... The country, divided on the question of slavery and federal state power.

However, when two soldiers, from both USA and CSA  saw a fleet of British ships, Abe Lincoln and Jefferson Davis allied, Lee and Grant united the two armies.

A terrible war was happening, the American Gatling guns, early submarines, and valiant soldiers resisted to the British lion, alone until the French Zeppelins arrived to re-equilibrate the balance: the Franco-British war was terrible but France helped USA to keep an independant zone, in fact, the northern part of the Thirteen Colonies: the most prosperous city is Angelfalls, rebuilt by French architects, and recalled by American popular culture Liberty City, due to the terrible battle where English failed to take the city, however, by despite, they bombed the city, like their ancestors with New York.

In facts, USA are, more or less, under the tutelage of the Empire, even if Napoleon III said the contrary in 1875.

But it didn't hindered them to build the first true skyscrapers, and big cities.

They are also the only republic, due to the wish of the French emperor.

USA are making the Queen Victoria angry every time, when she had to sign the treaty of Angelfalls in 1880, recognizing the official existence of USA, Napoleon III joked, she said: "We are not amused".

The Indians aren't genocided there.

In the former southern states, the KKK, now in British zone, was created in 1871 by 6 former CSA soldiers, KKK do both racist and terrorist actions; the Crown ordered the death penalty for them.

the conquest of the West is strictly controlled even if the west isn't easy to control...

As for the grey zones: they are the only non colonized zones: the Arabic peninsula and Asia: Arabic peninsula was desired by England but France hindered its efforts; as for Asia, China was attacked by France, England and Russia for obscure commercial causes and colonization (for Russia)

However, in Far East, another empire is rising, since the begining of the Meiji Era, in years ; Japan is becoming more and more aggressive, and, like Russia, is the theater of a fast and huge industrialization: in 1800, this was only a feodal kingdom with Samurai warriors, now, in 1900, they have a navy, a modern army... And an ideology, known as the State (hakko?) Shintoism... And they are very, VERY militarized...

Tsar Nicholas 2 said to talk about Japan: "It is small, yellow and nasty"

Japan was desired by both Tsar and Emperor but, helped by England, a young emperor, Meiji, is modernizing the Rising Sun Empire, and, since a few years Japan is more and more able to defend itself... And would love to attack the Qing empire...

And its useless to say that both French, Russian and British empires are serving the emperor of Japan while a Zeppelin, or an ironclad are "accidentally" violating Japanese territory, and, "accidentally" shot a few shells on Japanese islands...

Interesting, but the way, how you French treat the Germans in this universe?

Are they consider them as some kind of barbarians?
