Materials and Methods
Nikon D80 + Tamron 90mm F2.8 macro. ISO 500 due to shady, low lighting conditions. Minor adjustment of curves for color and contrast. Crop. Noise reduction and minor sharpening. See the before and after post editing comparison on my FB page: [link]

Despite the subject being dead, the image is very much alive. How did you get the colors to act selectively; pulling out the yellow tones in the flowers and the blue-green in the wall?

There was no selective adjustment of focus; only noise reduction and sharpening filters applied on the entire image. You can see the original image without any post editing on my FB: [link] The effect you observe is simply due to the focus and shallow depth of field
