Hubby: "What are you doing?"
Me: "Taking pictures of bottle caps."
Hubby: "Why?"
Me: "Because they're cool; they're a lot different than what you see back in the States, and I think other people might find them cool too."
Hubby: "Well, I guess the Qoo one's a little different..."

The cat kept pawing at the bottle caps and getting in the way too. In some shots, her head made it in. XD

I just learned that instead of collecting soda tabs like we do in the States, Japanese kids collect bottle caps, which prompted me to collect my own and take a few pictures. Aluminum cans aren't too popular here, except for small coffees and juices. There aren't 12 and 24 packs of soda to buy in Japan, I've only seen liter sized Pepsi, Moutain Dew and Coke cans in some vending machines so it's not feasible to collect the tabs.

These are a couple Japanese bottle caps you'll see in Japan. Some brands, like Qoo and Nachan have different character faces on each bottle, as you can see. I think some bottled green teas are like that too but I rarely buy bottled tea unless it's mugi cha (barley wheat tea).

Not sure what to do with all these bottle caps now.. do something crafty with them? Give them to someone? Make a contest of it?

Final comment: Do they really need to print how to open a bottle on a bottle cap? "Akeru ->"
