Okay, It's been forever since I used Photoshop, so I'm not 100% pleased with this. I think I made his shoulders too small, I hate the hand holding the gun, I hate the GUN and is it me or do the goggles seem lopsided? BUT I decided to stop driving myself insane and accept that nothing is perfect. I'll do better next time!Yes, the pose is very Yasopp, and the hair too, but that is the damn subject of this anyway. But, I think that Usopp is just going to get more and more like Yasopp as the years pass, in appearance and mannerism. Of course, he'll have his own Usopp charm, but he's definitely his father's son.
Usopp's favorite color is actually GREEN, hence the green shirt :3. Green compliments his earthy skin tones and stabilizes him. It COMPLETES him >

HOLY CRAP! Usopp is like my FAVORITE in one piece! He might be a coward but he is actually BADASS! I really think this drawing is badass as well . Oh gah! You've finished it! And he looks so seriously cool in this, so self confident and badass and I love the soft colouring. I'd just love to see him really grow up to be more confident in his own abitilities. His cowardlyness and how he faces it is still one of his many Usopp-y charms, but the boy just needs to have more faith in himself!
Hee, he looks great in green. I just get so fangirly when the crew are dressed in the other's respective colour associations for the little unintenional implications, like Zoro in Enies Lobby with the yellow shirt. It was like he was having Usopp withdrawl symptoms.
I seriously agree, now that he's growing up from being boyish to becoming more of a young man, he's going to start becoming more like his dad, probably even unintentionally. I'm looking forward to when they finally get to meet. It was kind of jerkish for Yasopp to have left him and Banchina, but he's still a good guy at heart and adores his son, so it's gonna be nice to finally get to see some more of him and them interacting.
I'd love to see Usopp sporting some guns eventually. Although admittedly, Kabuto's probably even cooler, it's more adaptable and has a longer range, and has the additional sort of squee factor that he actually invented it himself! I love the little niche he's found for himself as an inventor, and I can't wait to see what else he'll come up with in the future. Maybe he'll even design himself a set of pistols or another clima-tact upgrade, or maybe tinker with Franky and help with Sunny maintainence.
And gah! Such an awesome piece of art a gift? For me?!

XD In my head Usopp always looks seriously cool, even when he's scared out of his mind, I envision him doing it with epic amounts of badassery. Don't ask me how that is possible. Eventually, he's going to not be so afraid anymore, because that IS a part of his dream, but I think he'll still be pretty high strung

Hm, does that mean that because Usopp was wearing the red cape, he was going through Luffy withdrawal? It would make sense, after their fight.
I think Usopp becoming more like Yasopp would be completely unintentional. I think Yasopp being gone for so long (and God knows when exactly he left) effected Usopp's memory of him, not that he forgot him, more like he has a vague image of him, a more romanticized idea of what his father should be like. I agree, it's going to be cool when they finally meet, and Usopp isn't going to have hard feelings, because he's crazy like that (though he really should). But it's going to be great.
I too would love to see Usopp with guns, but not a flintlock like every other damn character has. I want him to MAKE his own gun. Like you said, that's what makes Kabuto so cool, and makes usopp so interesting because he has that inventiveness. Imagine the kind of destructive power he could achieve if he made an epic gun combined with his creativity and intelligence, it would be... amazing. But there is a part of me that thinks that he has a thing against guns, I don't know why, but I think he might be afraid of using them.

D'OH GOD.
The moment I saw Usopp, my first impression was "village idiot" (but an awesome one).
Then, I started thinking of him as...Jamaican? *awesome dreads/curls, thick lips, dark skin in the anime and his fashion sense*
Then, I actually started seeing him as "bishie" (my friends think I'm crazy XD)
Seeing this picture just comfirmed suspisions number 2 and 3.

I actually went through those three stages towards adoring Usopp, as well. At first, I liked him but he was just there *shrug*, then slowly, he grew on me, and I started seeing how amazingly developed he is as a character, and I just fell in love with him. And he is totally bishie, you're not crazy...

Basically, a bunch of outcasts and weirdos say that in unison when they find another freak. Yes, I must agree on the gun thing. If he had a gun, he would be unstoppable. Well, he's pretty damn cool already for using a slingshot like Kabuto. Can you imagine how much arm power is must take to accurately send ammo from the tower of Justice all the way to the entrance of Impel Down with a giant slingshot?
I like to think he's going to make his own kickass gun that's somewhat like his current array of weapons (like it doesn't just shoot bullets) one day.

Although you're right, he is pretty awesome for being able to do what he does with just a slingshot- there's even a little homage to it, during the Enis Lobby arc, when he's sniping the marines, one of them mentions the wind and how it should be impossible for anyone to shoot- in the translation I read, there was a point where one marine said "He can't be HUMAN!"
...no, he's an Usopp. They're a very rare breed.

Hahahah! I was never into Final Fantasy, though I did see Advent Children, so at first I didn't know what a gunblade was, then I looked up a video of it on Youtube, and I have to say, you're right. That thing is freaking hardcore.
I remember that part where the marine goes, "He can't be Human!" or, in the anime it was along the lines of "What in the world IS he?!" In that moment I was falling out of my chair, sqeeing from the Usopp-awesomeness. AND GOD, OH GOD, THE SINGING!

I think they sell replicas, but I want one that operates the same way as what I saw in the Youtube videos XD. The same reason why I won't ever buy a toy lightsaber, what's the point if you cant cut stuff up with a huge-ass lazer sword? That's why people would buy them!

I don't think he'd even be TRYING to blow it up. I think he just..you know...would. And I think Usopp could handle being in Impel Down, if only because he would know that Luffy and the others would come after him.

I keep expecting him to decide to be a decent person. I mean, he WAS a bud of Shanks when they were kids. And it seems like this treasure he's looking for is really important to him..but then he does something stupid like try to avoid helping Luffy.

I have a feeling that Luffy is going to bring a small amount of good out of Buggy during this Rescue Ace from Impel Down Extravaganza. At one point Buggy did seem to feel a little bad for deceiving Luffy because he was so trusting. And oh, weren't they all just so cute when they worked together to take down the Sphynx?!

Yeah, they're stuck with Luffy for a while. I'm surprised that they haven't figured out that their best chance of escape would be to stick with the ridiculously strong Rubber boy through to the end of his little mission.
Well, that's assuming that the rest of the crew (save Zoro) hasn't found a way to make their way back to the Archipelago by themselves. Well, Zoro might have Perona help him, but I doubt it, she'll most likely make him her butler.

Ah, yeah, I knew that, and yellow is also the color of courage in Japan. I don't really think that being represented by yellow makes it his favorite color. But the green thing was a joke anyway. I put some yellow on him because that is his color, like in parts of the goggles, and I used a lot of yellow in his skin. But I really wanted to put him in green, I think he looks good in it.

Yeah, Warriors used to put a yellow carnation on the breast of their armor for good luck and as a symbol of courage. I love that Yellow is Usopp's color. I never thought he was a coward, afraid, yes, but very courageous>opposite of cowardice.
XD It's okay, I've always found it hard to have conversations online, anyway. Things are so easy to misinterpret when it's only text, so I'm always extra careful not to jump to conclusions and get all upset.

I was always more of an artist than a writer, the story I'm doing now is the first I've written since I was 12 and I hate my writing voice XD.
