Description
Here's my design of Leatherhead.

Leatherhead was once a normal baby alligator from the swamplands of Louisiana, until he was captured by a hunter named Jack Marlin and taken to New York. However, police tried to apprehend him on the grounds of illegal hunting and poaching. In the chaos, Leatherhead's tank fell off his truck, smashed open, and was washed down a storm drain into the sewers.

One day, an utrom scientist named Xeinos found him and brought him back to Dimension X. There Leatherhead was accidentally exposed to mutagen and mutated into a humanoid infant. Xeinos adopted the baby gator and gave him the name Leatherhead.

Growing up was hard for him as some utrom children would make fun of him because he was different. As such, Leatherhead grew an easily triggered violent temper. Xeinos would allow him accompany her patrols in the sewer for any traces of mutagen, left from the truck crash.

In his teen years, Leatherhead was swimming peaceful in the water, when he saw the Turtles, who were in their early childhood, and became curious. However, Raph threw rocks at him, claiming that "thing" was invading their turf. This angered Leatherhead and he attacked, almost injuring Raph and causing the Turtles to flee in terror.

When he became a young adult, he would assist the Utrom at TCRI, having been taught by his mother, helping to build a tras-mat portal. But when not helping the Utrom, he would retire to the sewers as he always felt at home there. Unfortunately, when the Utroms made an emergency teleport, he was left behind and when he found the TCRI building in ruins, he believed that they and his mother were destroyed.

One day, a sewer worker caught sight of him and reported about a giant gator living in the sewers, this unfortunately got the attention of Jack Marlin, who was out on parole, he then decided to go hunting for the gator.

Mikey and his friends were boarding in the sewer unaware that Marlin had spotted them and set his sights on Mikey. Fortunately, Leatherhead had seen Marlin and decided to help. When Marlin had the turtle trapped, Leatherhead attacked the Hunter by surprise and took Mikey to safety.

Mikey was freaked out at first until Leatherhead explained he was only trying to help. Leo, Raph, Donnie, and their friends then arrived to save Mikey. Leatherhead recognized Raph as the turtle who threw rocks at him and attacked. Mikey quickly stopped the fight and explained that Leatherhead saved him from the hunter.

Leatherhead told them all his story and the Turtles said the Utrom hadn't been destroyed, they fled using the Tras-Mat portal because the Earth Protection Force had found their base and their leader Bishop wanted to exterminate them.

Suddenly, they were ambushed by Marlin and his men. As they fought, Leatherhead and the Hunter recognized each other. The gator then caused a cave in, hoping to kill Marlin and his men, and stop him from hunting the Turtles, getting buried along with them. The Turtles dug him out and he was revealed alive.

They all left and made their onto a bridge when Marlin arrived, having survived. He then tried to shoot Leatherhead when Mikey dove in the way, taking the bullet, much to everyone's horror. Enraged, Leatherhead chomped Marlin's gun and knocked him off the bridge, sending him falling to his death. Mikey then turned out to be okay as his shell had protected him from the bullet.

At that moment, a portal opened and Xeinos came through, having seen the news report about a gator, and the two had a happy reunion. Xeinos said she could take Leatherhead home but he declined, saying that he felt like he belonged on earth and had made friends. Xeinos understood and gave him a portable portal device so he could vist.

The Turtles then helped Leatherhead find a home in an old subway station.

He became good friends with Mikey as they both loved adventure and with Donnie as both loved building machines.

He would be voiced by Michael-Leon Wooley.

His backstory is similar to his Mirage origin and storyline.
