Description
Clone trooper Fives (CT-5555) of the Clone Army. Fives was one of many clones to be in service for the Republic during the time of the Clone Wars. Starting as a clone cadet of Domino Squad, Fives tended to butt heads with some of his squadmates and often supported his fellow cadet Echo. He and his squad, which was comprised of Hevy, Droidbait, Echo, Cutup, Cinder, and Belle had many difficulties during their training, mostly because they couldn’t work together, and as a result, they failed their final test. However, they were given a second chance to pass, and this time they finally worked together and passed.
After graduating, Fives and his squad mates were assigned to the Rishi Moon outpost, which his brother Hevy found to be a boring assignment, and vocally wished to be on the frontlines, shooting down battle droids. Fives, like the rest of his squad, was aware of Hevy’s desire to become an ARC trooper, and also shared this ambition. Soon, the outpost would be attacked by commando droids sent by General Grievous, to take the base, and prepare for an invasion of Kamino. When the outpost sergeant, along with two clones killed by the droids, Fives, and his squad mates were the only survivors. Fives and his squad mates were able to escape from the captured outpost and were then attacked by a giant Rishi eel, which had nearly caught Cutup, who barely managed to escape its massive maw, thanks to Belle.
The seven troopers then met with Commander Zeus of the 101st Legion and Commander Arthur of the 82nd Attack Battalion, whose shuttle was destroyed by the commando droids. After teaming up with the two commanders, the clones took back the outpost, only for General Grievous to send more droids to take back the station. Knowing that they were going to be outnumbered, the clones planned to blow up the Rishi Moon Outpost, so that they could warn the Republic Fleet. Following Hevy as he led Commander Arthur to the Outpost armory, Fives picked up a DC-15 carbine, to use against the incoming battle droids.
As a Separatist Landing Ship descended towards the outpost to deliver droid reinforcements, Fives used his DC-15 carbine with great success and blasted the droids as Commander Zeus, Echo, and Cinder worked to set up explosives to blow the base. Accompanied by Commander Arthur, Hevy, Cutup, Cutup, and Belle, Fives was temporarily able to hold the battle droids back. When the hand-held remote wouldn’t work, Hevy volunteered to stay behind to get it to work, along with Belle who volunteered to cover him so that he could get it fixed. Fives followed the rest of his squad and the two ARC commanders, as they soon reached a ridge that was safely outside the impending blast zone. After Hevy and Belle regrouped with Commanders Zeus and Arthur and the rest of Domino Squad, and Fives watched as Hevy was permitted to blow up the Outpost from Commander Zeus, Hevy personally pressed the detonator button, blowing up the Rishi Moon Outpost. After the destruction of the Outpost, Fives and his squad mates were inducted into the 101st Legion, serving under the command of Jedi General Rhydon Kenobi and ARC Commander Zeus, and fought in many battles with the 101st.
While serving in the 101st Legion, Fives continued to hope that he would prove himself worthy of being a good soldier, and soon his chance came when the Separatists Alliance invaded Kamino. Fives took the Battle of Kamino seriously, just like all of his brothers, and fought back against the droids with a tenacity that his commanders recognized. After the battle ended, Fives was approached by Commander Zeus and Arthur, along with Hevy, Echo, Cinder, and Belle was promoted to the rank of ARC trooper, while Droidbait and Cutup were passed over as they had yet to show themselves worthy to be ARCs. After the Third Battle of Kamino, Fives would continue to proudly serve as an ARC trooper of the 101st Legion, participating in many campaigns.
One notable mission that Fives participated in was the rescue mission to the Citadel on Lola Sayu. Fives and his squadmates, in addition to a few clones of the 501st, were assigned to assist in rescuing Jedi Master Even Piell, through which they were able to rescue Master Piell, along with Captain Wilhuff Tarkin, and a Chiss naval lieutenant named Thrawn but was unable to escape due to the shuttle that they used was destroyed. Fives watched in fear, as Echo and a 501st ARC Trooper named Hacker tried to get to the shuttle, but was shoved out of the way by Cinder just as the shuttle exploded, injuring Cinder severely, while Echo received some minor burns, and Hacker being consumed by the exploding shuttle. While Hevy and Belle provided him cover, Fives ran over to get Echo and Cinder, helping Echo get Cinder out of trouble. Fives would proudly watch as Echo carried Cinder all across the planet surface (which earned Echo a promotion to ARC Lieutenant), all the way to the rendezvous point, when the rescue gunships arrived, after which Fives gladly watched as Echo and Cinder became a romantic couple, especially when he knew that Echo was romantically interested in Cinder.
Another mission that Fives participated in, was the Battle of Umbara, when the Domino Squad were temporarily assigned to the 501st on orders from Rhydon Kenobi, to aid as a special force unit, and take orders from Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and Clone Captain Rex. At some point in the campaign, Anakin Skywalker was replaced by Jedi Master and General Pong Krell, and like his brother Hevy, Fives did not trust the Jedi Master right from the start. Fives' distrust of General Krell continued to grow as the Umbaran campaign went on, especially as Krell continued to needlessly sacrifice the lives of clones, in suicidal attack plans. After capturing an Umbaran airbase and under the threat of missiles from a Separatist supply ship, Fives, Droidbait, and Cutup, plus two clones from the 501st: Jesse and Hardcase decided to defy Krell and blow up the supply ship with the use of Umbaran starfighters. This, unfortunately, would only result in the five heroic clones being arrested for treason, on orders from Krell.
Eventually, Fives would learn that Krell had ordered for him, Droidbait, Cutup, Jesse, and Hardcase for execution, and was forced to stand in front of a firing squad comprised of 501st troopers, and to Fives' sadness, Hevy. Deciding to take his chance, Fives revealed that he had romantic feelings for Belle (which prompted the female 101st ARC trooper to both return mutual feelings and stand by Fives' side) and gave a bold speech on the loyalty and bravery of all clones. Fives smiled as Hevy dropped his rifle, stood by his side, and the rest of the firing squad purposely missed every shot. Unfortunately for Fives, he and his brothers were still labeled as traitors and were thus locked back in the brig, while the rest of Domino Squad and the 501st were sent to engage with Umbarans that were believed to be disguised as 212th clones. However to Fives' shock when Domino Squad returned, it wasn't Umbarans that they were firing on, but clones of the 212th who were tricked into firing on them and the 501st by Krell.
After learning the truth of Krell’s treachery and being released from his cell, Fives gladly took part in the attempt to arrest Krell, chasing him into the Umbaran jungle, after helping Hevy knock some sense into the 501st clone trooper Dogma. After Pong Krell was captured by the 501st and Domino Squad, thanks to another 501st clone trooper named Tup, Fives watched as Hevy put Force-resistant handcuffs on Krell’s four hands. Fives would later be present, when he, the rest of Domino Squad, Captain Rex, Jesse, Hardcase, Kix, Dogma, and Tup went to execute Krell. However, to the surprise of Fives and the rest of the group, Dogma managed to grab one of his DC-17 pistols and shoot Krell, killing him. After the Battle of Umbara, Fives watched gladly, as Droidbait and Cutup would be approached by General Rhydon Kenobi and ARC Commander Zeus, and were finally promoted to ARC troopers, including Jesse, Hardcase, and Kix for the 501st Legion.
Fives, along with the rest of his squadmates, continued to proudly and faithfully serve the 101st Legion, through more battles and missions, such as Ringo Vinda, Anaxes (where Domino Squad met Clone Force 99, aka the Bad Batch and rescued Hacker, after finding out that he survived the shuttle explosion at the Citadel), aiding Jedi Master Yoda in fighting Trandoshan hunters on Kashyyyk with Clone Force 99, and the final battle of the Clone Wars that Fives would take part in: the Siege of Mandalore. Fives and his squad would be assigned to the half of the 101st that was being taken to Mandalore by Jedi Padawan and Commander Zayla Secura, while the rest of the 101st Legion and Fleet was going to aid in the Battle of Coruscant. Arriving in the capital city of Sundari, Fives fought alongside the 501st division under the newly knighted Ahsoka Tano, the 332nd Company, Fives would use his DC-15 carbine to shoot and kill enemy Mandalorian warriors and Separatist battle droids, who were stupid enough to get in the path of his firepower. When word reached Domino Squad about the arrival of Rhydon Kenobi and the rest of the 101st Legion, Fives doubled his attack against his enemies, watching gleefully as Ahsoka captured Darth Maul.
After Maul's capture and his removal from Mandalore by the 332nd Company, Fives, Domino Squad, and the 101st Legion remained on the planet, tasked with getting rid of the remaining Separatist forces still on Mandalore. This was Fives' task, up until the moment of Order 66 was initiated. Having served alongside Rhydon Kenobi and Zayla Secura in many battles, Fives instantly didn’t believe that his Jedi commanders were traitors, thereby disobeying Order 66. With the rest of his squadmates and other Jedi loyalists clones of the 101st Legion, Fives remained by Rhydon Kenobi’s side, fighting against imperialist clones who were trying to follow through with Order 66.
After it was decided to evacuate from Mandalore, Fives and the 101st Legion managed to fight their way to the North Docks of the City, and held their ground, as they waited for potential rescue. In the time that they waited, Fives continued to shoot at the traitorous clones, until finally gunships and shuttles arrived, but to Fives' intrigue, the gunships and shuttles were carrying female clone troopers, all of whom came to the aid of the Jedi loyal 101st clones, and Rhydon Kenobi. After boarding one of the gunships, and eventually got on board the Venator Carrier Enterprise, Fives and the rest of Domino Squad would live to fight again, for the Jedi and the Jedi Loyalists Forces, after which Echo was again promoted to ARC Captain, and his surprise, chose Fives himself and Cinder as ARC Lieutenants, and Hevy to be an ARC Sergeant along with Belle.
After going into exile into the Unknown Regions, to a secret Jedi planet called Ossus, Fives stated that he had no issue with the female clones, saying that they proved themselves as capable soldiers, especially since he had already been fighting side by side with Cinder and Belle for the entirety of the Clone Wars. Fives continued to fight for the Jedi against the newly formed Galactic Empire, more than happy to fight the new Imperial stormtroopers that replaced the imperial clones, viewing them as cheap knockoffs of the clones themselves. Throughout their fight against the Empire, Fives and Domino Squad would take part in several high-level missions, one of which included the successful extraction of Chiss Grand Admiral Thrawn, as well as a small number of Imperial officers who wanted to defect to the Jedi.
When the Jedi Loyalist Forces were reformed into the Amidala Imperial Military, Fives was among the many clones who pledged their loyalty to the new, and far more benevolent, Empire. Fives showed support for the allegiance between the Amidala Empire and Rebel Alliance, especially as Fives was impressed by their tenacity, and their willingness to fight for their freedom. Like all of his clone brothers and sisters, his nieces and nephews, Jedi leaders, and their Rebel allies, Fives would be present at the Battle of Endor, blasting away at Imperial Stormtroopers. When the Death Star II blew up, Fives joined in the cheering and celebrations, of the end of the Galactic Empire, and its evil leader.
