Hestia is the Goddess of the Hearth, home, and hope. She is charged with keeping the fires of people's home fireplaces burning bright and giving hope. She is a virgin goddess, swearing off any companionship. She is the sister of Zeus, Poseidon, Demeter, Hades, and Hera. In Roman Mythology she is known as Vesta.

In the Rick Riordan Percy Jackson series and Heroes of Olympus series, she is often depicted as a little girl in a brown shawl, and has no demigod children of her own.
