Poseidon is the king and god of the seas. He has a seat on the Olympian Council on Mount Olympus, and often goes back and forth between his castle in the ocean, and Mount Olympus. He is the brother of Zeus, Demeter, Hestia, Hades, and Hera. He, along with his brothers Zeus and Hades, defeated and imprisoned their father Kronos. In Roman Mythology, he is known as Neptune.In the Rick Riordan Percy Jackson series and Heroes of Olympus series, he is the father of Percy Jackson, the main character and protagonist of the book series.
