awesome...love how the message is expressed in the rigidity of the figure and chaos of debris and color around her...
the brush strokes really emphasize the chaos quite nicely...ironic how nothing but disorder results from trying to artificially order everything...

Thank you very much. It's interesting what a few shots of Southern Comfort can do sometimes.

A kind of totemic whirlwind. Very visceral. Put me in mind of the Wicked Witch of the West. Or the Worm Ourobouros. Kind of a depiction of some new myth, the world being made from blood and stones.

Thanks Ev. That's the coolest thing I've heard about it. It might have been the large amounts of alcohol I drank to paint it. It always does something weird to a painting. Hehehehehehe

Wonderfully bizarre and offbeat. I really like the style and pose of the figure. Well detailed and colored. Dynamic and striking imagery.

Thanks again Stephanus. I'm not sure why, but for some reason, I've felt more like working small lately. I do generally work 2 to 4 times as big.

Think big?
I for myself prefer to work on small panels or canvas when I worked my surreal paintings. A lot of reasons for that, the composition is faster to see and to work out, small works are easily to transport. And customers are ever having space to hang the picture. But anyhow I think galleries are looking for large pictures. And the impression of a large picture is stronger in these picture-flooded world. Small images you see in Newspapers on TV an evereywhere and in anykind from paintings till 3Dworks, but big paintings are more unique the leave more impression in this Image-word. And with a lot of techniques Especialy in digitals, it is still not easy to work out real big pictures. So painters have the chance in doing large paintings.

That is a very good point Stephanus. I haven't really sought out galleries yet, but if I do in the future, I'll have to consider working large. Thank you very much for the pointer/heads up on that.
