This is my new, original drawing of Mordagz, as it might have appeared (but for deadline constraints) on page 91 of the Melnibonean chapter of the original Deities and Demigods for AD&D (TSR Hobbies, 1980 edition). Based on a thumbnail illustration on p. 91 by Dave "Diesel" LaForce.

"This being, once one of the Lords of Chaos, now appears to be a storm giant. He defied the other more powerful lords and was demoted to mortal status. It is his responsibility to guard the Shield of Chaos, a device which protects against all the forces of Chaos. This heavy round shield is 5 feet in diameter and is emblazoned with the eight-arrowed symbol of Chaos. He will guard the Shield of Chaos to the death."

My next Kickstarter project has launched. This time around, I'm returning to M.A.R. Barker's classic Tekumel / Empire of the Petal Throne RPG and creating new illustrations for the inimical nonhuman races and sea creatures from that game!
