Description I just love to make doilies, & I must say this is the one I'm most proud of! Especially a small part of the pattern was missing & I had to fill it in. I used bedspread weight cotton & a pattern I found in my Blue Ribbon Crochet book from House of White Birches.

Excellent work , wonderful detail .
In the canal and boating community here in England
pieces like this are widely used decorating boats , and
would be highly desired . Good stuff .

I am not a huge fan of doilies but I really like this one, I think the blue just add something special to the everyday doily..

Is this the kind of crochet, ack I cannot remember what it is called, where you crochet over a thread to create that look? I want to guess Irish crochet....??
It is beautiful.

Are you thinking of crotatting? (I think that's what it's called.) I thought that's what it was, but its just sc over chains- lots of chains! Thanks so much for the feedback.

Ahh, over chains. Well that would be just as new to me, I was reading a pattern that had one crocheting over a heavier thread....looks challenging, good job!

Thank you so much. This was definitely one of the most challenging doilies I ever made.

Beautiful! I love ornate doilies like these! I also like how it has blue. Makes the shape stand out beautifully.

Thanks for the tip! They do look really nice. Iยดm afraid, I still have a lot of work to do until I undestand the english directions to crochet, though.

Thanks so much! I agree. Pink is my fave color, but blue just looks so lovely on doilies for some reason.
