Description When I was a kid, I use to draw space ships that I made up. I thought I would visit my old technique and then show it on here. Because I am older and have photoshop it also gave me the chance to color it in for a change and add shadowing and lighting, as well as typed text.

If you have ever watched Star Trek, you have heard of Warp Speed. In Star Trek The Next Generation they Classify warp in an interesting way, with a Formula. Warp 5 is 5^(10/3) C = 214 times the speed of light. And Warp 9 is 9^(10/3) C = 1516 times the speed of light. This explains why it can get to a nearby star in just a day's time. And Warp 9.9 uses a different method of calculating getting 3053 times the sped of light, and as you approach Warp 10, you are approaching infinity. (I read this all in a Star Trek Book). Anyways, I thought about Time dilation, is a real way of calculating Distance. According to Einstein's theories, as you approach the speed of light time slows down and space contracts. (a lot of geeks like this sort of stuff).

Anyways, this ship uses real life time Dilation, to get across space quickly. And it has a sci-fi concept I invented called "Space Time Equalizers" to negate the harmful effects of traveling very close to the speed of light; it cancels the time moving quickly outside the ship, and the increase in mass of the ship.

So 71% of the speed of light is 0.71 which is 1.42 on Time Dilation which = 1.01 light years you would travel in a year. The rest of the chart is up in the artwork. Traveling at Ripple 8 would be a little faster than the Star Ship Enterprise D.

Now For the Story (I figure the ship should have a story, not star trek related):

--------

In the year 2213, the Starswift takes off from Earch for the very first time, the 52 Crew members on board have the huge task of finding a new world for the human race. But it will not be an easy task, not with all the things they do not even suspect is out there. They set the Drive Speed to Ripple 5 to start off easy, and they are off.

The Captain after several hours of watching the blackness of space, goes for a nice swim in the Pool room. some large space dust hits the main deflector and the gravity shakes on the ship, causing the water in the pool to splash about... maybe a pool on board was not a good idea, but they are out there already and the captain does love a good swim.

He rushes to the main bridge in his bathing suit to see what was the matter. The Helmsman says "We are hitting a dust cloud!... Um, what are you wearing?" The captain says as he is out of breath "Nevermind that. Go to Ripple 8, I want to see a new star System by morning!"

--------

Hope you enjoy my little story.
