Hm I think i'm getting faster.
My first animation with 24fps! (have to learn!)
Gives you so much more room to play with!
I didn't really have a plan for the choreography, so I thought about it as I went along. Abit of experimenting with the sword effects too.
I think i'm pretty much obsessed with animation!

I noticed while stepping through this that when you doubleframed, you would often alternate between moving one character and moving the other, or sometimes you would move both characters at once (when they interacted with each other). Is there a reason for doing so?

hm that's because the characters had different timings
I had them on separate layers. So depending on how fast I wanted them to move, I'd either work on 1's or 2's (like holding for 1 frame or 2 frames)

um I think I used the brush tool, but turned the snapping and thickness to the lowest setting possible.

Can I ask something? Can only SWF files exported from Flash be used for deviations? I tried submitting a SWF export from another program, but it just turns into a white screen on dA.
If all else fails, I could apply for deviantFilm, I suppose...

Are you exporting it properly? You can test to see if it works by dropping the swf file into a web browser and it should play automatically.
I usually put my stuff into flash/animations category
Other than that i'm not really sure!

Yip! I usually do a rough version to make sure it animates nicely and get the timing right.
Then I do a cleaner/add all the details version on top.
