Dude how did you figure this out, it looks sooo cool I've tried to get something close to this, I even used avatar as a reff but I just couldn't get it as good as this, I'll just have to keep trying. Do you have any tips or incite on how to go about drawing a similar to this?

hmm I'd say go and look at real explosions and see how they work.
Like the air currents and figure out what the smoke is doing.
There's a book called 'Elemental Magic' which is quite good!
