Description heres some of my robots
from my sketch original sketch page-->[link]
I'm not really entirely sure about the functionality of some of them.. (still have to work on that)
Though I learnt lots.
Think I have to learn more about joints
I'm gonna go lie down now.

oh if anyone has any suggestions or tips about how to go about robots, that would be helpful!

I say the human body and also learn about methods of energy ( ie: hydrolics, crane and pulley system, turbine jets.) If you find out what their function is, you get a better picture on why a certain machine looks the way it does.

but ye I like these! always pushing out some creativity Jeff!

O those are the key words I was lookin for!
I kept thinking to myself, should I look up machinery...?
I will look into them!

HKezza In reply to jeffreylai [2009-08-05 22:32:55 +0000 UTC]

Well...imagine what kind of purpose. Or what you want the machine to do.

IE: I want a mecha to fly but it doesn't look like a human, more like an animal and its quite graceful.

I would look up something like...a cat skeletal system, wiring mesh like machines, and i idunno...types of different planes and the inside of helecopters, etc. etc.

IT doesn't mean you have to follow directly from the book though. But if you want to get real technical about them, you can do that.

Hope that helped.

I basically just rendered the shapes from my initial sketch
I need to look into how engines and stuff work!
