It's been over a week now and I'm finally done with the tour. Who knew such a small place could be so big at the same time and so many departments. Anyway we're all having staff meetings today about new projects and whatnot. I'm shadowing every meeting to get to know the people better and to see how these meetings help accomplish things. Our final meeting was with the creations department, my department. The meeting was led by Jeffry. He looked really ecstatic that he almost dropped the huge pile of papers he was carrying over to the table. He stood on his step stool and began talking. He started by introducing me and saying he could tell I would bring amazing things to the department. He then stated that he was showing two projects today. One that's going to introduce some of the backstory and characters of the other. He named the project's PHC and AIJ. I thought it might've been more about his mercenary characters, but this was completely new. He said the only thing in this project from the others was about his character Jeffry. Anyway he started with PHC(Phantom's Hellish Cambio) he described it as a roadside gig. Two characters telling and singing stories about their homeland. It wasn't really special, just a broken down motorhome with circus-like elements. What really got our attention was the characters. He introduced us to a smaller guy that looked like a disfigured version of himself. He had one arm, looked kinda like a puppet, and hopped around on a disk. It reminded me of a Jiangshi, a Chinese hopping zombie. He also had this key on his back that if cranked faster can make him all jittery and faster. The other character was a hulking figure. A ragged doll with a toothy smile. Scissor-like claws that can change shape and size. He could even walk around without his head. But what struck me was his powers. He could warp reality, hypnotize people with his eyes, make people drowsy with his breath. Pull objects out of his sleeves and hat. He could even morph his body around by hiding into his hat like a snail would in its shell. He then showed us an image of this Phantom character using his powers to move Scrappy around like a leaf. But it was the way he talked about him. Anger, annoyance, pain. Like he knew this character personally. Of course he did, he created him after all. But he then talked about why these characters were actually singing for. They put on a show luring as many people as they can and once they go to sleep they sneak into their cars and or campers so Phantom can eat their dreams. Jeez I know Jeffry likes to write weird and dark stories but man is this disturbing. The meeting ended for the day and I went back home. I hope I don't have any nightmares tonight about this evil dream eating Baku.
