Does it even have eyes? I'm not sure if those are extremely tiny eyeballs, wrinkly skin or even a pair of dark glasses. Sort of a skeksis by way of early xenomorph designs with a semitransparent forehead dome revealing the subcutaneous features of a superficially humanoid skull.
Actually, that's not a bad idea for the entire Dark Crystal. Imagine the movie with aesthetics inspired by the artwork of H R Giger rather than Brian Froud. The castle is already halfway there , crystal bats would be inspired by Giger's unused swimming facehugger designs but with the flippers made of webbed fingers expanded outright into batlike wings and garthim would be even more horrifying than their canonical selves.

Skeksis onlyΒ appear to be "genderless" because their outsides look more alike than Β human bodies do.
Since they also ACT more alike than we think people should people tend toΒ think that Skeksis are "genderless" even when baby Skeksis appear upon fanfics that reveal the contrary.

None of the babies owe their origins to skekEkt.
SkekEkt is not a female.
He merely shows the alien attributes that humans most often misunderstand.

And so do his people.
