Description What to do when your genjutsu fails... Story Time! : (Will revise later when I'm not about to fall asleep)
Sakura is on a mission alone in the middle of winter, when she finds herself surrounded by a dozen cloud shinobi. She tries to fight them off, succeeding for a while. But, as to be expected when in such a situation, Sakura is running out of chakra. Her strength is weakening, and her wounds are adding up.

Itachi is traveling to the rendezvous point, where he will meet with Kisame. He is also alone. When he comes upon evidence of a battle, spotting kunai, a corpse, and a gaping hole in the ground. He becomes wary of enemy shinobi, but continues on, finding more corpses as he goes. Soon enough, he comes upon the combatants. From his genjutsu-covered hiding spot, he can find seven Cloud shinobi stalking their prey. Searching the area, he easily locates their target. It's a kunoichi...of the Leaf. Not only that, but he recognizes the pink hair belonging to his little brother's teammate. If her being a Leaf shinobi wasn't enough, he also knew her personally, so he couldn't leave this alone.

Itachi scans her chakra with his sharingan. He notes how it's in perfect control, but also that it's running low. He scans the cloud shinobis' chakra. One looks to be on his last legs. A couple had sustained most of their chakra, and the rest are running as low as the Leaf Kunoichi. He waits to see what will happen.

Sakura leans with her back to a tree, hiding. She can locate three of the enemy closing in on her. She wants to attack first, out of instinct. But, if she does that, her location would be given away for the rest of them to attack her. She checks her chakra concealment. It's perfect. She remains silent, clutching a kunai, and slowly starts to build up a genjutsu. She completes it, and a few seconds later, she watches two of her enemies creep past her. She smirks. All she has to do is wait for them all to be past her, and then sneak up behind them. She'll "take care of them" from the back to the front.

She's alerted by the sound of a whistling kunai. She flips backwards, and the kunai lands with a thud in the tree. She regains her balance jsut before the tree explodes sending bark, earth, and herself flying. She crashes with a groan into a tree, and slides down to the ground. She'll feel that in the morning... she hopes. Her ears are ringing, and her vision is blurry, but she forces herself to focus and stand. She shakily rises, but too fast, a shinobis right in front of her. She reacts, slamming her fist into his face. She thanks her shishou for the drueling reflex training as her enemy goes flying into a try much like Sakura just had done. He won't be conscious for a while, though.

Sakura can feel more presences surrounding her, now. It 's going to end up being a five to one all out fight in a second unless she can escape. That becomes impossible as she's shocked to feel her arms yanked behind her back, and her face collides with the ground. The man on top of her ignores her struggling, holding her in place. From her place on the ground, she watches four pairs of feet land on the ground in front of her.

"You were one hard leaf to catch."
Sakura gasps as a kee is pressed into her back. It's still bruised from when she hit the tree.

"Those were our friends you killed," his voice held hatred,"You're lucky we're to bring you back alive, or else..."

Sakura understands. Her heart jumps when she feels a blade poking the back of her neck.

"Alive was the only requirement, though." He ties her hands together with a rope behind her.

Trapped and threatened, Sakura feels tears forming in her eyes as she feels the kunai being traced across her skin. An odd feeling overcomes her, then. She's too afraid to understand at first, and the man on top of her had gone quiet. She starts feeling drowsy. Her head clears, and she recognizes it as the feeling of a genjutsu. Quickly, she forces her chakra to disrupt the genjutsu.

Upon its release, it becomes known to her that there's no longer anyone on top of her. she lifts her head and finds him dead beside her. The men standing were obiously trapped in a genjustsu. They paid their dead teammate no mind, and each looked in horror at nothing. A figure drops to the ground slices through one and then another with a speed that blurs its movements. Had someone come for her? These movements aren't like any of her teammates'. As her captors are all slain and the last one falls, she finally sees her savior slow.

Savior was not the right word at all. No, 'savior' was a sick joke. What was here for her was the devil himself; a much worse person to be caught by. Sakura pretends to be caught in the genjutsu, hating the dead man beside her for having tied her hands together. She would have to make due without her hands, and catch him by surprise when he comes for her. She can hear him walking closer. She's dying to get up and run, but forces herself to lie still. He stops above her, and Sakura prepares to counter an attack, but instead she feels him cut the ropes off of her wrists. He then walks away and jumps off into the trees.

Sakura sits up, rubbing her wrists. Why was she still alive. She looks around at the fallen shinobi. They had looked to have been under a frightening genjutsu. The one she almost fell under had only been putting her to sleep. She hadn't been captured by him either. She would have made a valuable hostage for him. Was it possible... that Uchiha Itachi had actually been her 'savior'? Why?She had to find out. She forces herself to get up, and takes off in the direction he took.

It's hard, but she tracks him out of the woods to the sea. It's frozen over from the climate, and she can see his tracks now, and in the distance, his figure. Dismissing her last chance to turn back, Sakura speeds up to catch him. Slowly, by enhancing her legs with chackra, she starts catching up.
He obviously notices her, because her stops and turns. For one tiny instant she sees shock on his face. She suspects it's because she's suposed to be "napping" right about now, but, hey, she's always been good at genjutsu. His eyes narrow as he turns to coninue on his way. Surprised that he'd simply ignore her, she stumbles forward, reaching for his cloak.
"Wait!"

Sorry for the long story, but I hope you like it. I don't have much experience writing. Um... I hope you like the picture too. I really liked how Itachi turned out, but I had a hard time with Sakura's cloak. So many of my pictures are dark, so it was really refreshing to do a bright one in the daylight. Well, now back to what I'm SUPPOSED to be doing... heh heh
