Description Semi-inspired by the Vanessa Carlton song...

"You think you'll be happy if granted one more wish, but the truth is you'll never need more than this."

I always thought Kagura's final scene was very powerful, but left off on her relationship with Sesshoumaru in a sort of funny, stunted place. She wasn't "alone" in the end, but his guesture (he came to save her, but couldn't, so he just spoke to her and watched as she died) seemed incomplete. I think she loved him... did he love her, or did he just think it was worth swinging his sword to keep her in the world?

Oh well, I actually don't think he should have been "supporting" her as she died after telling her to betray Naraku on her own, but I drew it anyway.

Sorry it's so close to the images in the source art...

This is absolutely lovely...I really love Sessy's expression. I mean, one could say that it's his usual deadpan face, but if you really look, you can see the pain...

Wonderful work. Wish this scene had been in the manga.

LOL, that actually summarizes my attitude towards the character completely.

"Oh, Sesshoumaru is doing...nothing, again. But! But! If you REALLY LOOK you can see some sort of emotion! Oh, wait, I think I'm just projecting..."

I love it. Sesshomaru's expression is perfect: in character yet still conveying a suitable amount of emotion. Excellent job on his bangs, too.

This is lovely... And really captures the essence of the scene very well!

And I do think he loved her... as much as he's capable of loving someone. Which only means, I don't think he knew WHAT he was feeling for her... hence the stunted portrayal of it.

But that he went to her, knowing it was her... and that he wanted to use Tenseiga on his own (without the sword giving him a nudge first) speaks volumes. Also, later... that he takes it upon himself to declare, "Whether her death was in vain or not is for me to decide" and to get so angry at Menoumaru for saying otherwise that he ended up breaking his sword... I think he loves her.

This is a beautiful and tender moment... I love the overall effect and the way Sesshoumaru has his hand gently on her head.
Really remarkable... adding this to my faves!

I am quite familiar with the panels you based this on, and I have to say, you integrated them beautifully. Very touching. Wonderful work!
