Don't feel discouraged! I have this book and the sequel, and I have to admit it's not easy to do. I worked on the sunflowers from this book and it took me several tries. I think your frosting might have been too soft to hold the texture. I also learned that I wasn't pulling it away quickly so it was drooping. I found that working fast made it stay in shorter spikes and it held very nicely. Maybe you should try the sunflowers. I kept repeating in my head, "squeeze, pull away" over and over. Remember, the more you practice the easier it gets. Good luck!

I made these to ... I only have the calendar so no instructions I managed two!! and they were fine until the head fell off the front hehehehe. (the second one was , like yours, held together with cocktail sticks!)
