Very nice indeed! (the writing on the sign...did you emulate the handwriting exactly? Or it that your own?) It always impresses me when artist can copy another's handwriting perfectly)

Or cafes? Or music venues / bars? I know some local places in all parts of the states love to show artists work - even with a price tag on them! (& without taking any of the money, since you are basically giving them free, temporary decor)
I've lived in WA, TX, MA, CA, IL and visited FL, VT, NM, OR, ID, WI, AR, CT, ME, NV, and all had places that did this - and not necessarily the touristy places, but places with a yen towards political & community activism.

Your Seattle street scenes are just so beautiful - have you taken them to galleries or to the tourist board or to any local book stores/art stores who might sell prints or posters or postcards or calendars or the like? They have so much going on, and the colors are so fresh/unique, that I can just stare at them for hours --- anyone who has a fondness for Seattle - or for street scenes - would love to take your paintings home to brighten up their lives.

I want to let you know that I love this work just the way it is. However, I'll be happy to give you some productive feedback.
There's something really amazing about all the glazing and transparency and pattern one can create with watercolor, however, if you get carried away the painting can become cluttered and confusing. I wouldn't go as far as to say this is a "confusing" piece, but it is definitely busy. When creating paintings like this, where you're trying to convey a lot of information it can be difficult to exclude anything. However, I think you may find that if you did a street scene like this again and chose to focus on fewer objects, letting the rest of the painting become --- well, emptier, filled with gradated washes and color --- the painting would GAIN a significant amount of clarity. Let things bleed into each other, especially when working background elements.
But like I said --- I LIKE IT! Has a great sense of energy and expressionism! I'd not worry about this piece and simply work a bit differently on the next one.

Thank you for the feedback. It's much appreciated. It's always a balance that is easily tipped one way or the other. I'll certainly keep your input inmind.

I hope it was helpful. Still, I love it the way it is. It's usually better just to try to grow with each painting, rather than dwelling on problems. Such thinking tends to leave one discouraged and unmotivated.
