…Well, what can I say? XDDD For ages, I’ve wanted to do some sort of crossover between my favourite game series (Sonic, naturally) and my favourite TV show (Doctor Who… even though I’ve only seen that one series, I’ve never seen anything better on TV ^_-). I guess the initial idea, therefore, came along when myself and ~ConcordeHedgehog were talking on MSN months ago about a Sonic/Dr Who crossover. Since then I’ve wanted to do something along those lines, as I liked the idea a lot. But the actual content of the comic, the jokes and whatever… From my weird imagination, the idea just came to me randomly (as with last year’s Halloween pic) XD I wanted to do this as a comic because I wanted more than one scene; plus it was so hard to think of something to follow up my last Halloween drawing – so I guess a comic was the logical answer.

So, Doctor Who. As far as I’m aware, America never got the last series so some people looking at this are gonna wonder WTF is going on here Well, I –did- draw this for myself, so I based on something –I- really like despite the fact that some people who will want to leave comments won’t get it without an explanation. I’m sorry about that. I guess I could just sum up the stuff that’s needed in order to understand this picture, so here goes… Very, VERY basically, the Doctor travels through time and space in the TARDIS (a gigantic ship disguised as an old police telephone box, a helluva lot bigger on the inside than the outside. It looks like Tails’ costume With a flashing light on the top, which is why Tails has a random blue lantern on his head XD). The fact it has “Bad Wolf” on the side of it in my comic is a reference to something which I wanted to include in the comic, in some way – the words appear in every episode of the series (bar the first one, IIRC); in one episode a random kid spay-paints the words on the side of the TARDIS, which is where I got that idea from And before anyone asks about Knuckles – the Daleks are one of the Doctor’s main enemies; -basically- like these weird robot things, with what looks like a sink plunger on the front, and they say “Exterminate” a lot XD Trust me when I say they are much, much cooler than that, but you gotta see them in action to believe it ^_- And Amy – OMG, that was the most obvious choice of character for me, in fact it was the first thing I thought of as soon as I decided on Sonic as the Doctor. The Doctor doesn’t always travel alone, he normally has a companion with him as well. In this series it’s a girl called Rose (funnily enough, considering Amy’s surname ) who meets the Doctor in the first episode of the series. What was pretty freaking blatant from the start (despite the fact that most people I know failed to spot it) was the fact that they end up falling in love with each other. I guess I don’t even need to explain Amy’s logic there, then; she says it all herself anyway And the "pumpkin incident" referrs to the pic I did last year for halloween, look it out in my Gallery if you've not seen it ^^

Oh, and with drawing this, I finally realised why my character’s clothes looked a bit familiar… *points to Amy* XDDD It was obviously some subconscious decision based on the fact that I’d been watching the show a LOT in the run-up to redesigning Jen Hedgehog Although how I failed to spot it before now is beyond me because, believe it or not, this comic was done completely from memory. Ok, so I checked the details against screenshots and the TARDIS money box sitting on my computer desk, but all was good so I didn’t need to change anything And guess how long this took to do, including sketching time? 21 hours. Yeah, seriously, it nearly drove me insane – but the time has been spanned over 8 days, it’s not as though it was all done in one go XD And I think it was worth it, as I absolutely love this comic.

I hope you all enjoy the comic, but I want to say one thing: For once, please don’t point out the mistakes. From working on this for so long I’ve spotted them already, and I know what could have been done better. Please bear in mind that this is the first comic I’ve EVER drawn, so I know there’s plenty of room for improvement
