Description "Bird and bear and hare and fish, give my love her fondest wish."-Stephen King, "Wizard & Glass"

"...so they were joined, and so they were doomed. Ka."-Stephen King, "Wizard & Glass"

A painting of a scene from the book "The Wizard & Glass" by Stephen King, the 4th book in his Dark Tower series. They're the doomed lovers, Roland Deschain and Susan Delgado, at their first meeting.

It came out all right, I guess, except for the dark spot around Susan's head, that I just couldn't get rid of...*sigh* It isn't exactly how I'd pictured it in my mind, either. Oh well. Comments requested, as usual.

beautiful! ^^
Stephen King must've made the setting really well, because...

that's what I got out of it...
gosh, they look similar...
only mine looks amateur compared to yours. But, wow. Same colors and everything.
but, Roland's a bitch to draw, so..

I haven't been able to read Wizard and Glass yet, and I'm about to force my dad to go buy it. We're both reading the series right now...

I do know, though, that I will picture this as I'm reading the whole thing. It's gorgeous!

I just finished the entire "Gunslinger Born" series and I'm 3/4 the way through "The Wastelands." I've fallen in love with the Dark Tower series, especially the tale of Roland and Susan's doomed love. So tragic...

I love this picture. I don't even mind the dark spots around Susan's head. Kinda like the dark fate for all of those Roland loves has wrapped around them in their moment here... Like I said, I haven't read all the books (yet), but like I told my bf, "It seems like everyone Roland loves dies."

Okay, enough fangirl babbeling.

As a truly huge fan of the DT series, I love this simplistic drawing. You seem to have similar insights to this as I do and it's very seldom I have that connection with someone's art. Thank you for sharing your art. ARPhot

i read that roland on the last book goes back in time to the first book from the dark tower and like...had a chance to save jake, susahna and eddie.

im os lucky that i only discovered dark tower when the last came out so i kind of swallowed them one after another. possibly bad for me, but hey.
i feel sad for roland when i read the end but hey, kings the master, and he was right. there werent many decent options to end the book.

long days and pleasant nights.

n/p

what i really want to happen at the end of the series is maybe for roland to die and wind up in the other world where susan most likely went and be with her..... but, knowing stephen king, the ending won't be that pleasent....

Yet another comment on your Roland and Susan pic. Shorter this time...I promise.

You have found my heart in the Tower series. Wizard and Glass. In my opinion, the best book ever written.

I've read through the series 5 times, (6 times for Wizard and Glass).

I used to be a voracious read when I was still in school, but lost touch with my love for the written word...until I got Wizard and Glass. I didn't know it was the fourth in a series, so I just jumped in. I was, and still am utterly raptured by it. I read 98% of the book in less than a day...(including 12+ hours of working). No sleep, no respite. I didn't want, or need any. I felt so energized!

The last two chapters I read as slowly as possible, not only to absorb as much as I could, but to make it last as long as possible. I didn't want it to end. Thankfully when I got to the "end", it was a "to be continued". And I couldn't have been happier. Until I read the liner notes and discovered that there were THREE MORE TOWER BOOKS!!!!!!

Needless to say, I got them all next day...paced myself to make them last, and fell in love with reading all over again. Since then I've read over 100 novels, (I lost count, and don't count double reads, as another novel), mostly King, Koontz and the like. (Seize the Night, and Fear Nothing are my fav Koontz).

You see? Get me talking about The Tower and I just won't shut up!

I used to live back east in Mass, and R.I. when I was younger. Don't know what significance that has, but I thought I'd share.

Again...Thankee Sai Jen.
