Really cute! I like this concept and how you presented it. Nice coloring as well as very good attention to detail, like in the wallpaper and between the tiles on the floor.

My only comments would be to double check the toes on the front leg as they look like one toe is missing and slightly large and round, and maybe lower the nose to elongate the face a little more. You could also pull the jaw in a bit or put the head back further as the distance from neck to chin seems a tad too long. My eye is drawn right to the center, but stays there. Could just be me but, maybe try adding something with a similar brightness to his skin near the cat or something to create more of a sense of movement both in and around the tub? Those would be my only few suggestions.

I always wanted to have a bath overflowing with bubbles but now it would be only me having to clean it up XD Overall, really well done! Hope this helps a little.

Thank you very much for the critique! It was perfect and just what I needed. I have noticed that with the foot as well but I brushed it aside when I was painting it and forgot about it! That's something I will edit in the future.

I hadn't however notices the distance of the chin from the neck and such. That is why critiques are so great. I'll also likely be adjusting that in the future. Thank you for the criticism and kind words.

The first thing that struck me with this piece was the creative idea. I love the idea of a bathtub, a confined place that becomes a world, like our own mind.

I like the details around the tub as well, but I found they took away from the piece as a whole, because they're distracting from the 'world of imagination' inside the tub. A more simplified background might have worked better, or a difference in saturation of colour between the tub and floor to draw more attention to the tub.

Overall, the impact of this piece is wonderful! Nice work!

Hmm yes I have gotten that from a friend of mine as well, about the background. I was really tossing the idea of the background back and forth for a while. I can definitely see where you're coming from and it might be something I would adjust in the future. For now I think I will take a break from looking at it and I'll come back to it perhaps knowing where to go from there?

Thank you very much for your critique!

"Just because something is imaginary doesn't mean it is not real."   Imaginationland South Park

"I... Um... because I think... they are real. It's all real. Think about it. Haven't Luke Skywalker and Santa Claus affected your lives more than most real people in this room?

I mean, whether Jesus is real or not, he... he's had a bigger impact on the world than any of us have.
And the same could be said of Bugs Bunny and, a-and Superman and Harry Potter.

They've changed my life, changed the way I act on the Earth. Doesn't that make them kind of "real."?
They might be imaginary, but, but they're more important than most of us here. And they're all gonna be around long after we're dead.

So in a way, those things are more realer than any of us."

This lovely piece reminded me of my childhood when I used to cover my face with a small bucket, pretending it's a diving helmet. Then, I would pretend I'm on a mission underwater.

I think the criticism is just one opinion. For example, face and toes - awesome. Secondly, the details around the bathtub are what makes this picture whimsical. This is something that I would think about properly as a child. I would take into account every little element of this illustration because there is no doubt that the devil is in the details. As an artist, you did an unbelievable job and you should keep going.

In my humble opinion, it is the details in this piece surrounding the bathtub as well as the tub itself, that breaks through the confines of what is normal and into the realm of imagination. Would Harry Potter have worked without all the details? Of course not.

I wish I could do what you do - you should never stop doing this kind of stuff, unless it makes you unhappy. Good job. I applaud you.
