Description
Iron Wings are a specie of Pegasus. They are however unlike regular Pegasus. While Pegasus have feathered wings, Iron Wings have a razor sharp steel like plating, that grows over time, taking the form of a wing skeleton. They are not built in, but are born with it, and develops from their Colt/Filly stage. Also their wings don't behave the same as regular Pegasus do. They don't contently flap their wings, but instead use them in a Jet like position. This allows them to pick up speed much more faster and cut through air and clouds with ease and not fearing about losing speed.

Iron Wings don't live in the Equstria region. They live in a far off region, known as the "Echo". Echo is a collection of clouds and twisters, that form a large high speed cloud shell, that is impossible to break. It's considered highly dangerous to approach it, for that it could cause severe damage, or even death. Inside the cloud shell lives the Iron Wings. Living on a cloud based structure, having no knowledge of land based materials or even the outside world.

There is however, one land material that is found inside Echo. A large volcano that is said to be the main cause of the cloud shell. It's unsure if the volcano is still active up to this day, but it is said that the Iron Wings developed to adapt to its heat waves from the volcano, which could explain the reason why they have metal wings. There is more to them, but it's difficult to gather information, since no pony or thing has ever en-counted or seen an Iron Wing in years.

There are some that are aware of their presents, and are even going as far as to assist them out of the cloud shell. So far, no progress was made. It has been said that some Iron Wings have been spotted in Equestria, but it hasn't been confirmed yet. However, there has been some Iron Wings from before. Two have been reported missing from Echo. A middle age mare; Misty Sky, and a young Colt; Phoenix Sky. They haven't been found dead, nor alive.

Despite the name of their race, Iron Wings don't actually have iron wings. Way back at a time when Equestria was still young, their was another region called "Skyrange" home of the Sky Unicorns. Their land was the greenest island in all of Equestria. Unfortunately they were attacked by a clan known as the "Catægis" who were a group of pegasi that want nothing but to conquer lands. The Sky Unicorns at the time, were allies with the Iron Wings, and joined together to protect Skyrange.
But what's the mystery behind the name "Iron Wings"?

They did original have ironed wings. It was to use them in flight combat, hitting hard on their targets and causing them to lose balance. Which was the reason why the Sky Unicorns needed their strategy. However, the Iron Wings began to develop better conditions for their wings. Eventually entering stages such as Aluminium, Steel and even Titanium and Platinum. Their current stage at the moment now is a metal called "Crail" which is a metal only found in sky volcanoes. There was only one sky volcano near Skyrange, Echo.

At the time, Echo was just a sky volcano, surrounded by clouds strong enough to withstand building structure. This was a perfect camp sight for the Iron Wings to settle down and build up camp. Harvesting materials for the Sky Unicorns without having to travel as much distance. Eventually Echo became popular for Iron Wings to settle in, and many leaving Equestria to come live with their loved ones. It went well, the Iron Wings managed to dig up some valuable resources and gathered them for the Sky Unicorns. But, tragedy struck, and the Echo volcano erupted. Engulfing itself with a thick layer of ashes and clouds, the sky volcano trapped the Iron Wings inside. Making all connect to the outside world impossible

Thousands of years pasted since the Iron Wings were imprisoned, many outside of the Echo died off, making history of them vanished. The Sky Unicorns too died off quickly, without the aid of the Iron Wings and their supplies, and sooner then, everypony of Equestria don't even remember the word "Iron Wings" Making them seem, like ghosts of history.
