Luna Lovegood is my favorite, because we're a lot alike.
We're both Ravenclaws, we're both insane, we both stick stuff in our hair, and we can both read upside down. AND WE BOTH LOVE HARRY POTTER

I think your drawing is very good. I would contrast more, don`t be afraid to shade more and even if Evanna Lynch is perfect for Luna, try your own personal view of Luna... it might work wonders!!!!
Use more soft pencil for the shades (4B),and since she is blonde you might want to add many highlights on her hair...
The eyes need more details, shades and highlights!

I'm still working on getting things to look how I want, so I'm working with photos for now until I feel like I can adequately work with things that are real, then I'm going to start using my imagination more

They are very cheap. I got H, B`s and of course my mechanical .5 mm (I couldn`t find the .7). I think you can manage with that.
Try to shade with crosshatch... I know it`s not what you want, but it works fine with pencil. Look at my hand sketches for example.
I know that you work with photos,find a different model who would look like Luna... that is all you need!!! You can work with her reference!
And remember that shadows and lights are only a part of a drawing. The expression in the eyes, the eyebrows are very important!!!!
I do like pencil sketches a lot... check out and just to name some...

I'm in the HogwartsArt club but they only put 6 pieces up a day so it usually takes 2 weeks for them to post it, and 2 weeks is practically forever!
