Description I was hoping it would look better, however I don't have the patience right now to make it any better... I'll probably improve on this later. This is a potential "WIP."

w00t. My first time making something like this.

If you read this, please tell me something you like about it and something that I should improve on. Thanks

I like the shading and I think you did a great job coloring it. The blue on the chair really stands out really well against her uniform and complexion.
I think(for this one, at least) you need to put her house badge on her sweater; if this wasn't labeled "Ravenclaw Girl", I would have thought her to be just some random student.

I didn't think of that. Thanks for the input.

I figured the color scheme of the chair gave it away, but then again I knew her house from the start.

The composition is very nice and the bright colours are lovely! I love her pose and maybe you could integrate the wall behind her a bit!

I love the girl's pose and her expression., and the whole picture makes a really delightful impression.

I'd like to see more definition in the chair-carving details, and the candles and their brackets seem to be floating in air.

Thanks I'll definitely try to work on that!

It's really nice. Like it!
Could I use it for an ID if you don't mind? Because I can't draw or paint so well...But if it's problem it's ok.

I think it's very cute, but the only main problem that is see there is the lineart. The bg and the girl look as if they were from 2 separate worlds; you should make an outline for the bg, the candle and the chair. All in all, I love the colors you used ^^
(btw, have a look at the perspective of the floor )
Hope it was useful!

This is a sweet drawing of a Ravenclaw girl reading a book or maybe even studying her owls.

Yeah, we have to study

MagicoffMusic In reply to JenniferOHcious [2008-06-25 16:44:27 +0000 UTC]

we do. sometimes it is boring to study talking about subjects you don't like is never fun to study. subjects people have interest in are always fun to study

Good composition and nice pose. The foreshorting of the arms and hands needs some improvement, like the hands need to be larger since they are the closer to us the the elbow.

The best thing for getting body positions is looking at an actual figure in that position. Mimic makes perfect. Seeing how a leg looks when crossed like that will help improve how the one in your drawing will look, too.

You did this digitally, right? What program did u use?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JenniferOHcious In reply to lightningflash2 [2008-06-24 14:13:59 +0000 UTC]

Adobe Photoshop CS3 extended. Lines done in Adobe Illustrator CS3 'cause I hate Photoshop's pen tool.

The candle looks funny 'cause I'm left-handed and almost everything I does tilts But i'll work on it, thanks!

I like the details on the chair's texture, but the dark outline clashes with it horribly.
