There's a popular design by another artist that everyone else seems to follow, but here's my headcanon Trueform!Castiel C:
I wanted to draw him actually next to the Chrysler Building for scale, I even went outside and stood in the middle of the slushy slippery city street to take pictures of it to edit him into, but it looked too strange.
Anyway, Seraphim have 6 wings, two of which cover their face, two cover their feet, and two are for flying. They also have 4 heads, each facing in a compass direction, but hey some wings are covering his face sooo (nixed, angel mix up. i am not an expert)
also Seraphs are supposed to be the highest and most powerful type of angel while Archangels are lower on the totem pole, but Supernatural took some artistic liberty with that shhhhh

edit: I've been informed over on my tumblr post that SPN's angelic hierarchy was based on Milton's. Yay info!
